I've been practicing workers' compensation law for over 20 years and really do nothing but comp! I was in the original class of attorneys who were Board Certified as Specialists in Workers' Comp, am a member of the Million Dollar Advocates, Forum, and have the highest possible rating - AV - from the peer review group Martindale Hubbell. Honestly? A lot of attorneys can say that.
If there is anything that sets my firm of 16 lawyers apart it is that while we are large -- offices throughout North and South Carolina -- we believe that lawyers practice law and not paralegals. When you call the office the first time you will talk to either Chip Permar or myself. You will talk to lawyers throughout your case.
Give us a call at and let us talk about how we might be able to help you.
Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.
What determines Avvo Rating?

Discipline
Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
We won the case by having the NCIC require a new evaluation of the client. She demonstrated full lifting capacity, returned to work for another couple of years, and significantly raised her monthly retirement pay by doing so.
B.J. v. Broadspire
We won at the initial hearing. Defendants then appealed to the Full Commission where we won a second time. We successfully obtained an order from the NCIC requiring defendants' to pay our expenses and fees for the appeal.
