I contacted Attorney James McMinn a few months ago when I was arrested and charged with public intoxication and resisting a police officer. From the start, I did not feel like I deserved these charges (which alot of people may think that of themselves as well) however, after consulting and hiring McM...inn, it did not take very long at all for him to see my view as well. After he ordered the police officer's body cam video, it was very obvious that within 20 seconds of the officer arriving on the scene of this particular incident, he had reached in at me trying to grab a phone from my ear and then threw me on a sidewalk. He threw me in cuffs as he had one knee in the back of my neck and the other knee in the small of my back, all of this as no one else was on the scene yet. The officer never witnessed any type of public intoxication and I sure as heck never had a second to "resist" anyone!! This officer had a very controlling personality and was to say the least quite abusive with me and I had pictures to show all the horrible bruises and busted nose, etc. that he left me with, which not to mention, was all given to McMinn for my file. Fast forward to my court date, after a couple of them were continued due to the cop not showing up to court, my main man McMinn was ready for trial with the video/pictures/and his magic! As soon as the DA found out this information and had a quick chit-chat with the above mentioned officer, the officer got up and walked out of the court room and the Judge entered. We stood in front of him as the DA announced that after his findings from Mr. McMinn, both of my charges would be dropped and dismissed. Just like that!! I was grateful, I was blessed, but I honestly was at the same time a little upset that that officer and the rest of the court didn't get to see the body cam video played in court! Well, maybe it will be on TV soon???? I haven't made up my mind just how far I may take this....afterall, McMinn said I have a 2 year statute! What a GREAT lawyer! It was a great day in court to see a Winston-Salem police officer..and the DA squirm when they found out my attorney was Attorney McMinn....ready for trial your Honor! :) Thank you James R. McMinn!
