Over the course of the more than 35 years I have been representing persons accused of crimes, we have tried and won jury acuittals for clients in State, Federal, Magistrate and Municipal Courts. Our trial experience includes First Degree Murder, Vehicular Homicide, Sexual Assault, Drug Distribution, White Collar Crime and Driving Under the Influence (DUI) cases. I have also argued and won reversals in numerous cases before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals. I am a member of the bar of the United States Supreme Court.
I've always loved the idea of helping people. My ability to help people who are caught in the criminal justice system is an extension of my belif in human dignity and the rights of all of our citizens to be treated fairly. I consider myself to be a Billl of Rights enforcer. This trait is also reflected in my community service over the last 25 years coaching youth football and basketball. Our firm has been built on this premise of community service and client centered representation. Our work ethic and our commitment to our clients is what has combined to make our teamwork a successful formula for representing persons accused of a crime or under investigation for criminal activity.
Handling a wide array of criminal cases in many jurisdictions across the country has provided me the experience and the reward of helping thousands of clients over the last 30 years. We can never guarantee a client a result or what the outcome of their case will be but I take great satisfaction in guaranteeing every client that their case matters and that I will be working tirelessly on their behalf, using my experience and commitment to achieve the best possible outcome in every case. Our experience is your Edge.

Mills and McDermott represented me on charges that I was facing 15+ years. Truth be told the evidence against me was stacked. It cost me quite a bit but they did what they promised and I never set foot in jail or prison for one day. Highly recommend this team. -Matt M

It took a long time as the wheels of JUSTICE move very slowly, but the felony charges against me were dropped and the record expunged! I'm so excited I can finally move on with my life!

WARNING. BE VERY CAREFUL OF THEIR BILLING. I paid $7,500 as a ONE time full upfront fee to represent my girlfriend. Then I get notice that they want another $7,500, even before they went to trial. I was also under the belief that Kevin Mills himself was going to represent my girlfriend and he did no...

Kevin Mills cares about his clients. Not only did he successfully have my drug charges dropped, but he also went the extra mile and helped me enter a rehab facility. My experience with Kevin was more than exceptional.
"I came to work for Mr. Mills because I wanted to learn from the best in criminal defense. His passion, commitment, experience, and skill are second to none."
"I met Kevin while working for the late Bill Moffitt, a nationally-renowned defense attorney. Bill had been Kevin's mentor in the 1970's and had been my mentor up until his untimely death in 2009. After Bill's death, Kevin asked me to join his criminal defense practice in West Virginia, and despite being more accustomed to working in more urban places, I did not hesitate to join Kevin's West Virginia firm. I knew that working under Kevin would be a continuation of the excellent experience that I had received while working under Bill. Kevin brings an amazing wealth of experience to every case. Moreover, Kevin gives the same amount of effort to every client that he represents, whether the client is charged with DUI or murder. With Kevin, every client receives the benefit of creative legal arguments, skilled trial advocacy, and dedication to their case. Most importantly, Kevin has compassion for each client and a fierce passion for defending the rights of those accused of crimes."
"I have the great pleasure of working for Mr. Mills in his criminal defense firm. Kevin D. Mills & Associates is a unique law firm practicing only criminal defense. In my experiences, I have had the opportunity to observe Mr. Mills display a great command of the law as applied to criminal defense. His knowledge and compassion for the law, as well as his desire for helping others, shines through on a daily basis. Every case and every client is treated with the utmost respect. In addition, Mr. Mills utilizes his experience and resources to aggressively defend his clients' legal interests. I strongly suggest without reservation that anyone seeking legal advice for a criminal matter should contact Mr. Mills immediately. He will handle your case with the attention and legal knowledge that your case deserves and requires."
