I retained Mr. Voltin as an attorney for a very sensitive criminal matter. This matter involved being charged with indecent exposure. Upon meeting with Mr. Voltin and stating my case, he made me feel at ease that he could address the matter directly. Mr Votlin made himself available for numerous c...onsultations as I presented my case for innocence. He friendly, yet personable demeanor put me at ease. I am not a person of high, risk so when offered a guilty plea by the defense, I seriously considered taking it. However, based on my testimony to him and my insistence that I was innocent. He put my mind at ease and we argued the case. Mr. Voltin displayed great confidence, knowledge of the law, and a presence that gave me confidence that we would prevail. In the ed the case was dismissed. I would highly recommend Mr. Voltin for any matter that involves case law or criminal defense. His thorough research on my matter led to the dispensing of justice. I was charged with solicitation of prostitution in Hampton, VA. The evidence against me was insurmountable, and I knew right from the day I was arrested I had no hope. Christopher Voltin represented me during 2013, 14 and 15, with both pre-charge and trial defense services. My initial issue was a complaint of assault; the grand jury handed down indictments for Misd. Sexual Battery and Felony Abduction. If convicted I faced 20 years to life in prison and a $100,00...0 fine. Mr Voltin’s immediate response was to place a wall between me and all investigating agencies involved, thereby preventing me from getting caught up in an interview and inadvertently hurting my case. This was a very effective tactic and alleviated the need for any contact with authorities. He then laid out a strategy for discrediting the plaintiff, using documented facts and misleading and false statements she made to investigators. A key piece of this approach was the use of a private investigator; his P.I. was able to interview the plaintiff (and her adult children) for almost an hour, all recorded, during which they contradicted several previous statements and the general nature of their complaint. It was a brilliant move on Mr Voltin’s part and his investigator demonstrated a keen ability for gleaning facts from uncooperative party. Had my case gone to trial, this audio recording was, while not a silver bullet, very damaging to the prosecution’s case. At the end of the day Mr Voltin procured a misdemeanor plea deal with no jail time served. And yet he completely respected my decision to decline it. He and the staff of Weisberg & Weisberg never wavered in the belief of my innocence. Upon declining of the plea deal the prosecution dropped the charges. I believe that decision was taken, in part, due to the talents and track record of the lawyers at W&W, Chris Voltin included. He has my utmost respect and I recommend him to anyone facing similar circumstances.
