Biography
I focus my practice in the area of family law as well as serve as a Guardian ad litem for children. I am admitted to practice law throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. Prior to opening The Law Office of Laura L. McQuesten, PLLC, in 2023, I practiced family law with other distinguished fmaily law firms.
I graduated from the Regent University School of Law, where I was the Managing Editor for the Regent University Law Review, a Pupil of the James Kent American Inn of Court, and a Board Member of the Alternate Dispute Resolution Board. During law school, I interned for the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit with the Honorable Bobby R. Baldock and for the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth. After law school, I spent a year working as a Deputy Magistrate and Law Clerk for the Superior Court in Kotzebue, Alaska. I earned an undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University, receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business with a minor in German.
I handle all family matters, including mediation, divorce, custody, visitation, child and spousal support, paternity, adoption, and protective orders. I also have experience representing parents and children involved with the Department of Social Services, children who are in or at risk of being in foster care, and children who are deemed children in need of services or supervision.
