Nancy is a kind person, and I believe she has good intentions. However, she does not advocate for her clients. She agreed to take my case, knowing that I needed someone who would advocate for me, and she never did. She dismissed the seriousness of the situation I was in, and minimized my concerns.... On an ethical level, knowing the situation I was in I do not believe she should have ever taken my case and instead referred me to an attorney who was more aggressive. She was very passive and dismissive of my concerns, and gave no advice as to how to how to combat the situation.

I am truly sorry that you were not satisfied with my services. While some clients feel that they need to hire a "bull dog" or a "shark" to represent them in a divorce, it is my experience that overly aggressive attorneys often make the situation much worse in family law cases. Instead I try to use a non-adversarial approach as the first option until all cooperative resources have been exhausted. I have helped many clients through very difficult situations and while I prefer to help them reach creative solutions outside of the courtroom, sometimes litigation is the only option. Even then, rather than using aggressive adversarial behavior, I try to advocate for my client and use more assertive effective behavior, taking into consideration the best interests of the family as a whole. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this further with you because I certainly do not ever want to be dismissive of anyone's concerns or give the impression that I am not concerned about any client's unique situation. If I gave you that impression, it was certainly not my intention.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
