Our office is on Parham Road in the Courthouse Commons office park near the Henrico County Courthouse. For being steps away from the Henrico County Courthouse, I am in my car a lot. I mean way too much. I practice from Emporia to Stafford County in both State and Federal Courts. I’m licensed to practice in all State Courts in Virginia, in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
My main areas of expertise are traffic and criminal defense; family and divorce law; as well as handling civil law suits for small businesses. I like to say as long as you didn’t kill someone or need a tax question answered, I can help you.
I grew up in rural Fauquier County, Virginia and headed down to the University of Richmond for my undergraduate degree. I graduated in three years with dual degrees in Sociology and Criminal Justice. I should have taken a fourth year to enjoy life a bit, but went right into UR’s T.C. Williams School of Law. I passed the bar in 2004. I was 24. After six years in Richmond, Virginia there was no way I could move back to Northern Virginia. I’ve been in practice for six years and counting. I’m grateful that I chose to spend my professional life trying to make people’s lives better in whatever way I can. Our reputation can be deserved at times, and that frustrates me.
Personally:
If you haven’t noticed, I don’t take myself too seriously. I’ve also been known to appreciate a good meal. I have not missed many. Married to a ridiculously beautiful, funny and intelligent woman. We have a smelly dog and a toddler who leaves us happy and exhausted.

Outstanding and Confident
Shane represented me in a relatively minor moving violation. However, since my driving record is pristine, ANY blemish is unacceptable. He handled the case with skill and confidence, was very responsive and reassuring, and delivered a good result.

Solid attorney, a real straight shooter
Shane assisted me with gathering information on some out-of-state divorce issues, and most recently handled a divorce for a very close friend of mine. He understood that my friend was dealing with limited resources, and gave some helpful advice about how to best file given the circumstances. He man...

Keep Looking
This attorney is exactly why people hate attorneys. He did not communicate, and worse, he did not do what I desired. He missed court dates and was a mess.

A bad attorney is worse than no attorney.
This review is to prevent any others from experiencing a similar situation. I will keep it to bullet points so as to remain dispassionate. -Hired Mr. Jimison in May 2011 and by November 2011 he still was unable to even get a hearing. -My ex-spouse missed the "answer deadline" by nearly 3 month...

Smooth and Painless...Divorce was actually enjoyable!
My now Ex-Husband and I had been seperated for almost four years. When we called Shane we were expecting outrageous fees and a whole lot of headache. Instead we were welcomed with a very knowledgable and understanding guy! He knew we were done and he understood "the quicker, the better" attitude w...
