Reckless Driving

Mr. McGrath was patient and detailed in explaining what the charge was. He advised me on what to do to mitigate the seriousness of the case before the court date. I did not have to speak in court because Mr. McGrath handled that brilliantly. The judge reduced the charge from reckless driving, a cla...ss one misdemeanor to improper driving a traffic infraction which is not a criminal offense.

DUI case

Mr McGrath was excellent in keeping me informed step by step of my upcoming case eventhough due to COVID it was push back close to 2 years! Mr. McGrath reviewed the police video throughly bringing up key points that the officer was in the wrong. While in court he also picked up on key statements the... officer testified under oath that did not happened. He used all resources (toxicologists) to come testifying on my behalf proving that my blood alchohol wasn't accurate from the time of my arrests location to then being at the jail. Mr McGrath insisted we take this case in front a jury and after a long day in court it was worth it because the jury unanimously voted that the defendant (me) was Not Guilty! After 2 years I can move from that dark cloud that was over me and it was all because of Mr McGrath, he's straight forward, professional, great priced, well known, and just a good person. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM HANDS DOWN!

Joe saved my life

Joe is very professional and knows his stuff. He also is extremely easy to work with and handles your matters as if they were his own. I was arrested this summer for two charges (felony hit and run and driving on the revoked) and reached out to Joe to help me. These are serious charges for anyone and... in my case, they were even worse because I was a revoked driver. Joe listened to the facts in my case and helped me get a result that allowed me to stay home with my family, keep my job and most importantly, remain felony free. Thanks to Joe, I was given a 2nd chance at life without any restrictions. Phenomenal Attorney

When I say Joseph (Joe) Mcgrath is one of the most competent lawyers you will ever meet, I mean it; words on a screen simply do not do this man any justice. When I was initially charged with a DUI four months ago, I was immediately scared for my career and future situations I envisioned myself in ...if I was convicted. DUI charges are not only costly, but inevitably have negative (and lasting) implications on potential opportunities both inside and outside of the workplace- which held especially true for my particular situation. I had talked to a few lawyers in the area prior to consulting Joe: one was unsure of my situation and provided me with virtually zero input regarding my case after I explained what had happened. Another was somewhat quick to dismiss my questions and ultimately ended up choosing not to return my calls. However- the first time I talked to Joe, he immediately addressed all of my concerns and provided me with a concise background in his experience with these types of cases; his confidence both over the phone and in person provided me with the reassurance I was looking for and that we actually had shot at fighting my pending charge. More importantly- he emphasized that although he could not guarantee a favorable outcome based on the context of my case, he would do everything in his power to fight for me. In terms of subject matter, I blew a .14 BAC after being detained and performing relatively well on the field sobriety test. We ended up going to court three different times over a span of four months (including arraignment), and every time we went to court- Joe would press harder in an attempt to get me what I wanted. With all the stories and reviews I had read online- and the more I got to work individually with Joe, the more I started to understand how seriously he takes his clients cases. This holds especially true in the courtroom where you have the opportunity to watch him as he fearlessly fights on your behalf. He is very professional in what he does- but when combined with his passion, dedication, and knowledge of law, it pains me to think that anyone would consider hiring anyone but him. If you know anything about Virginia, you’re likely well aware that getting a DUI case dismissed rarely ever happens- but he was able to do just that; I walked out of my courtroom in genuine disbelief (as did most others in attendance) with my license still fully intact- having saved hundreds of dollars I would have had to pay otherwise. Joe knows law better than anyone I’ve ever met and sets the bar at a level few will ever achieve in his line of work. The knowledge that he brings to the table is a constant reminder that you are in good hands; I had all types of questions throughout the trial and would call him on many occasions- he would always answer the calls and was happy to hear from me. He will connect with you on a level that you would think is only possible from a close friend, and that’s the thing- he does become your friend. If you want a Lawyer that can truly get you the best results, you need to hire Joseph Mcgrath. He brings dedication, passion, knowledge of the law, and overall perseverance to the table as a defense attorney. He has all the required abilities to get you what you want (or at least a favorable outcome). I would recommend him to anyone looking for a lawyer and will continue to refer him without question. It is because of him that my future won’t be hindered from a DUI charge.
