I met with Mr. Kiyonaga to discuss challenging a plea deal that I had made without knowing its consequences. It was a long shot, but he told me he could help me. I paid him $20,000. What ensued was a painful year of working with someone with an arrogant and volatile temperament and who largely dis...missed anything I had to say. To top it off, it was abundantly clear that Mr. Kiyonaga was completely unprepared at the hearing. He was unable to support either the primary or secondary petitions he had submitted to the Court in my case. Lasting seven minutes, the hearing was over before it began and was a humiliating presentation of bumbling explanations and non sequiturs.
