I met with Mr. Kiyonaga to discuss challenging a plea deal that I had made without knowing its consequences. It was a long shot, but he told me he could help me. I paid him $20,000. What ensued was a painful year of working with someone with an arrogant and volatile temperament and who largely dis...missed anything I had to say.
