Money money and money again!

I would not recommend her to anyone! Lack of communication, presenting herself late, arrogant in the Court and with the client ! Charging for every keystroke! Make yourself a big favor and stay away!

Father got a win!

Tara was amazing with my custody case back in 2021-2022, she fought hard so I can win custody back of my daughter and did everything in her power to do so, even with my daughters mothers side thinking they were going to win again and trying their best so they can win. But not this time, I had an amaz...ing lawyer who fought hard so I to can have my daughter with me, I wish I could still have her as a lawyer now because lord going through lack of communication, not being on top of her medical appointments and not putting our daughters education first, but I had to go through bankruptcy back then because yes fees are high and wasn’t able to pay what I owed. But at the end of the day I would rehire her if I needed and wanted to!

Unprofessional behavior during and out of courtroom

I hired Ms. Steinnerd for a child support case and her passive aggressive behavior towards me before, during, and after trial were appalling. It was obvious during court she not only didn't go through all my documents but she didn't even notify me that I would be taking the stand until 10 minutes be...fore I entered the court room. Ironically, she did call me that morning to ask me a question and even then, did not inform me I would be taking the stand that afternoon. What attorney doesn't prepare their client for trial?? In addition, she was incredibly nasty towards me during the trial and treating me like an adolescent when in fact her behavior needed to be checked. While waiting in the lobby for the judge to make the final decision she had the audacity to blame me for the trial's outcome, told me I was argumentative, was unprepared for trial, and did not go through all my documents. The way she treated me was appalling, from this experience I was able to keep a cool head despite her snatching my own cell phone out of my hands when I tried to calmy explain something to her and all the while blaming me for her faults. Her exact words, "You expected me to run the numbers for you didn't you"? Yes, ma'am that would have made a lot of sense instead of looking foolish in the court that day. If you added up the numbers from my ex-husband you could have done the same for me, and that's how I found out you didn't open the attachments provided. Not only did I not want to go to trial, but I consistently told her I did not want the support lowered. My child support was lowered because of documents I clearly told her I could provide her the year prior, and she didn't want, she didn't go through all of my paperwork, and literally growled at me during trial when she found out information about me that she should have known as I provided her all-necessary documentation way before the trial began. Ironically my neighbor also has her as an attorney and indicated she can be incredibly aggressive when things don't go her way. Remember you are the client and you're paying for her services; no one should be made to feel disrespected or blamed for the outcome of a trial they were unprepared for. You pay your attorney to do their job and in no way, shape or form should you be belittled in front of others for THEIR lack of commitment to the job. Respect should go both ways. I would not hire this attorney or recommend her to anyone as she can be incredibly nasty and disregard what you want as a client. I highly suggest you read the reviews prior to hiring her to represent you.

Although I cannot comment on the specifics of this case, this is why every lawyer reviews the facts with their client the day of the hearing. This client, like all clients, was prepped on witness testimony earlier in the day via telephone, so I am unsure why the client did not understand that they were testifying, when witness testimony preparation was done earlier in the day. During this time, an attorney reviews the facts, to ensure that the documents match the testimony, and reviews the answers so that there are no surprises. However, it is always a surprise when a client presents facts on the stand that are different than the facts they told their attorney, during the witness trial preparation. When this takes place, the judge is required to take the facts as given by the client on the stand. When the answers given in the morning are different than the answers presented on the stand in the afternoon, there is nothing that an attorney can do to change the outcome of the facts, as the client is the party that presents the facts, rather than the attorney. Many clients are nervous on the stand, and that is to be expected. However, it is rare that answers change completely within a few hours time, and yes, unfortunately as an attorney, it is a surprise to see this take place, and it sometimes results in orders that change the financial requirements of the parties. However, if an attorney has all the facts, and if they have the truthful facts from their client, then an attorney can adequately prepare a client for what is likely to happen with their court orders. I wish this client, and all clients, well in their future endeavors.

We won!

Ms. Steinnerd is amazing truly. She kicked butt in the courtroom. We walked away with everything that I had asked for with a bonus of my ex having to pay for my lawyer fees. Great communication and explained step by step what is/was happening. She looked out for me and my child's best interests. V...ery thankful!

Excellent Lawyer

Miss Tara represented my daughter and I and helped me to win the child custody case during COVID. While I was in Virginia and my ex husband in California we did virtual case. We were fully prepared as a team and won! She is very informative and professional with her responses. She is tough and stron...g and the exact person I needed as a backbone against my ex husband. She is my personal go to for any legal issue moving forward because she genuinely cared about my daughter and that means a lot of me.
