Few things in life, other than your health, are as important as ensuring that those you love are provided for after you’re gone. It’s a responsibility that can be quite daunting given the complexities of the law, the legal profession and the fact that the plan that you create may have to function for... years if not decades. Having had a number of estate plans and lawyers over the years I’ve come to the conclusion that one of the most important things you can do is to retain a team that you can trust. After you’ve departed, you have to rely on those you’ve retained to help implement your plan. It is also important to know that estate plans will often need to be adjusted over time to reflect changes in your family’s circumstances. I had an unhappy experience years ago when the law firm that drew up my first estate plan wanted to charge me more to make changes than the original plan cost. This was especially annoying as many of the changes were strictly boilerplate. I quickly decided I didn’t want to be held hostage to this firm. But, who could I turn to? Who could I trust? Fortunately, I attended a financial seminar that featured attorney Jessica Marchegiano. I was impressed by her presentation and later met with her for a detailed overview of what I thought I needed. Our conversation was in plain English. I felt comfortable with both her knowledge and approach and gave her the go-ahead. It wasn’t long before I received a bound estate plan. I am relieved that it’s done and am confident it will withstand the test of time.

Jessica, and her team at JM Law, handled all of our Estate Planning needs from reviewing and explaining my parents' trusts, of which I was a beneficiary, to creating our own wills and revocable living trusts, even finding someone to draw up new deeds to retitle our real estate in accordance with her ...new plan, all in a friendly and professional manner which made the whole process a pleasure.
