I was originally charged with a first-offense DUI, facing possible jail time dependent upon my blood draw results. On top of that, I had crashed into another vehicle. At first, my case was looking a bit rough with my high BAC level and body cam footage. However, Mr. Colbert was confident in defending... me and it showed! He got my DUI lowered to a reckless driving with NO license suspension, nor additional jail time! It is clear he knows his stuff. I hired Mr Colbert after I was given a summons for “use of marijuana while operating a vehicle”. I reached out and hired Mr Colbert on short notice of my original court date. From our first conversation about my charge, Mr. Colbert was pleasant, empathetic and ready to fight for me. Through that and follow- on conversations he helped to keep me calm about the situation and focused, so that my normal life wouldn't be derailed as we went through the process. The trial date for Circuit Court was set for 6 months later and Mr. Colbert began preparing. He filed a motion to suppress and we were seen by the court 1 month prior to the trial date. The court heard our motion which was that the arrest violated my constitutional rights and the motion was granted by the court! Mr. Colbert was a pitbull in the courtroom and thoroughly presented all of the facts. This ultimately resulted in the commonwealth not moving forward with the charge and the court removing the upcoming trial from the docket. I couldn't have asked for a better attorney. I am glad that I kept the faith in him and allowed him to fight as he told me he would. I would recommend him 10 out of 10 times to anyone! He is truly a professional and a man that takes pride in his craft.
