also known as Rachael Hammer
I am a D.C. native who grew up on Capitol Hill. I attended Columbia University and graduated with a degree of Political Science. I lettered in Crew and Football.
I attended Georgetown University School of Law. I now represent corporate and individual clients, as both plaintiffs and defendants. My practice is primarily in the areas of family law, bankruptcy, and landlord/tenant issues. I have successfully represented dozens of clients brought their cases to closure to trial in both Virginia and Maryland federal and state courts.
While I enjoy arguing the issues before a judge, I am often able to resolve cases through mediation and negotiation. This particulariliy makes sense in the areas of divorce and child custody and support.
I like to think that when life is at its most challenging, I can help you turn it around!

Rachael Hammer is an awesome attorney! She was retained for a extremely complicated tenant-landlord matter. In two days to prepare for trial she was able to win my case. Outstanding results thanks to Rachael Hammer and Katrina Smallwood her devoted paralegal.

I reached out to Rachel Hammer when I started the process of a loan modification on my house and my bank would not approve me for wrongful reasons. Not only did the bank try to deny my modification but they also tried to foreclose on my house. Rachel Hammer and her assistant Katrina Smallwood, und...
"I highly recommend Ms. Hammer. Rachael is an intrepid attorney that is willing to go the distance for her clients. She is always prepared and is also a skillful litigator and trial tactician. She is also incredibly kind and thoughtful, and easy to approach. I am often amazed at how capable and effortless she makes the practice of law appear. As someone who knows how hard it is, it's a testament to her skill and natural ability that she makes it appear so effortless. Accordingly, I find that she is very capable and therefore I highly recommend Rachael."
"Ms. Hammer is the lawyer I trust with all of my family-law referrals. I have known her since we were students at Georgetown University Law Center. She was brilliant then and remains so today. We recently worked on a complex matter together, and I was thoroughly impressed with her ability to take care of our mutual client as well as deal with a difficult opposing counsel."
"Rachel understands divorce issues and is an excellent negotiator. She is passionate about her work and it shows in her dedication to her clients."
