Ashvin Pandurangi

I hired Mr. Pandurangi to complete a Ch.13 bankruptcy. Numerous errors were made with the filing: first draft contained no creditors, 2nd and 3rd drafts were filings that belonged to someone else, and the 4th draft included creditors that I did not provide because the balance was paid. I was not no...tified of my bank determination letter that could only be sent to Mr. Pandurangi. Now, Mr. Pandurangi refuses to provide copies of any work product. I do not know what letters, filings or contact with creditors were made on my behalf and if any additional errors were made. I wholeheartedly do not recommend Mr. Pandurangi for the reasons listed above and others that cannot be listed in accordance with AVVO review guidelines, but have been submitted to the Virginia State Bar professional ethics committee for review.

I hired Ashvin to represent me in a lawsuit to evict a tenant who had not paid rent. He showed up to the trial completely unprepared and as a passive bystander. He had not read my documents, he did not ask the tenant a single question when she was on the stand, he did not offer a closing statement, a...nd he did not proceed to ask for damages as we had discussed. Furthermore, he did not object to anything the tenant said, despite her ranting outside of the scope of the trial, despite my prodding him to object, and despite the fact that he said he would object when we discussed this subject prior to the trial date. On top of all of this, when the judge asked if I had filed a 30 day notice to vacate, Ashvin had no idea! I pulled out the document and gave it to him, while the judge was asking for it, and he refused to present it to the judge. It was clear he had not seen it before, despite the fact that I sent it to him, with all the other relevant documents, PRIOR to the trial. When we left the courtroom, I asked Ashvin to explain the need for the notice to vacate. He said he had no idea what the Judge was referring to and why! He obviously did not know the law and was not able to reply to the Judge. In addition, he had not even read my lease, which my entire case was predicated on! Because he was completely lost, he never asked the Judge a single question nor did he try to mitigate the Judge's concerns. On top of all that, he got angry with ME and told ME that I had not "pointed out" the notice to vacate to him in my emails. He refused to take responsibility for the fact that he didn't do his due diligence by reading my documents and communicating with me accordingly. To add insult to injury, he did not bring relevant documents to the trial or sufficient copies. I was the one giving him my copies to use during the proceeding. It was clear that he had not read my documents and didn't care to participate in my case. He was just a warm body there to collect his payment. After everything was over, I asked Ashvin for a refund of his fees since he did not do his job. He refused to provide a refund.

I hired Ashvin to assist me with my bankruptcy case. I paid him half his fee immediately, and my case was filed the next day. He is very attentive to detail and explains important facts in a clear and concise manner. He really helped me get through and complete this process with ease.
