Kyle G. Manikas

I received a reckless driving citation late this summer, where I was paced doing 90 in a 55 mph zone. I was not intoxicated and I was the only one on the road at that early hour. The officer didn't arrest me, and was very polite with me. Still, this was a very serious offense that carried a potential... jail term, not to mention the damage it could have to my career. I turned to Kyle based on the reviews on this site, and I'm so glad that I did. Kyle didn't sugarcoat the challenge but he did give me advice in my free consultation about what I could do to help myself. Once I hired Kyle, he walked me through the various options of mitigating the damage from the citation. On the third trial date, he was able to make a deal with the prosecutor and I pled guilty to reduced charges that carried a hefty fine, but with no criminal record and no jail time. I was tempted to go for the highest price because I was extremely worried about the outcome of my case. I live in California and often come to Virginia for business. On a beautiful Sunday morning whil...e driving to Dulles international airport, a VA trooper driving an unmarked car stopped me and gave me a summons to appear in court for Reckless Driving 89/55. The trooper was extremely rude and didn’t care what I had to say. Not familiar with VA law I figured that it was just a speeding ticket. But I soon found out of the serious consequences of being convicted for reckless driving in VA, including possible jail time and a permanent criminal record. Having a clean record, I was very concerned and had many sleepless nights thinking of the outcome of my case. In addition, Mr. Manikas’ assistant is extremely efficient and I felt that they were knowledgeable and to the point. The day of the trial was nerve breaking, but I met Mr. Manikas at 9:30 a.m. and he calmly explained the events that would be taking place that morning, the fact that people without attorneys would go first and that he would then have an opportunity to talk to the prosecutor. It was not until 11 am that I saw Mr. Manikas go inside the court room. I peeked inside the courtroom and saw Mr. Manikas talking to the prosecutor. Mr. Manikas, suddenly came outside the court room and said “I need you to come inside right now, there is a chance we can fix this” I followed Mr. Manikas inside the courtroom and sat in one of the benches, he then filled some papers and handed them over to the prosecutor, after a couple of minutes the judge called my name. Mr. Manikas walked to the small podium and he waved his hand at me to come over. The judge said something that I couldn’t understand, Mr. Manikas replied in the same legal jargon, and it was done. Just like that! My case was dismissed with the final disposition “Nolle Prosequi .” If you find yourself on a similar situation don’t hire an attorney until you talk to Mr. Manikas.

I highly recommend Mr. Manikas to anyone to fight for your case. He is one of the best lawyers you can find in Virginia. I had met with other lawyers, and the other lawyers made me feel like I was screwed even before going to the court. On the other hand, Mr. Manikas’ confidence and charisma show m...e that he will fight for me with the best possible result he possibly can. I was charged for reckless driving for 89/55. The trooper told me I was driving 85 at first, but he wrote me a ticket for 89 for some reason. During the trial, he told couple of lies for some unknown reason, I was shocked and mad. He said I called him an “A**h***”. I never used that word in my life, so that was a lie. I can prove it by asking all my co-workers, friends, church’s friends, and family. The trooper was there to get me send to jail no matter what. He also said I yelled at him that “I was going to hire an attorney to fight this!” his words. I was like, huh? I am from Texas, so whenever we get a speeding ticket, we just pay for the ticket, nothing more to it. I didn’t even know the seriousness of speeding in VA, so why would I want to fight a simple speeding ticket. I was hoping to get improper driving or something, but just not reckless driving with a criminal record. Mr. Manikas somehow got me to a speeding ticket!!! I was so relieved. Mr. Manikas single handedly just saved my job, my future, and me.
