When my reckless driving citation hit the public record I was bombarded by lawyer solicitations - I knew I needed a lawyer but choosing one was a daunting task. That decision made, his staff was very helpful and responsive from that point until my court date, passing on his instructions and advice for how best to prepare. I was unable to attend my court date, but he assured me that was OK and he could attend to everything that day and that I merely needed to be available by phone. When he did call, everything had been handled and my reckless driving charge had been reduced to Failure to obey a highway sign. The overall cost to me (his fees + fine + court fees) were still hundreds of dollars less than if I had gone with the higher priced firm. Kyle provided his services for an inclusive flat fee. My case was continued 4 times and eventually went to ...trial. It was Kyle who encouraged continuances and going to trial, when he thought is would be helpful to my case. He always kept me informed and updated me with regular phone calls. Kyle is very knowledgeable about the court, the prosecutors, and the judges. He uses this familiarity to gain the most advantageous courtroom line-up (to the extent to which he can control it). He offers sound, non-judgmental advice and works hard for a win. At trial, he was well-spoken, fluent in the law, quick on his feet, and relentless. He provided overall excellent service. Best lawyer in Fairfax. Criminal charges should never be taken lightly, and Mr. Manikas is worth the expense. He produces the best results. For the past several months I have been constantly anxious about by impending court date. Mr. Manikas was able to convince the police officer and the prosecutor ...to not pursue charges against me. I hardly ever write reviews, but after the representation that I received from Mr. Manikas, I believe that to say his services warrants positive feedback would be a gross understatement. I was faced with two charges that would have greatly altered my life direction and put a major dent on any future... advancements in my life and my career. I was charged with a DWI 2nd offense (carries a mandatory minimum of 10 days in jail and a loss of license for 3 years with restricted driving privileges after 1.5 years) and a Refusal to Blow on a Second Offense (also a criminal charge that carries a hard loss of license for 3 years). Basically, I was facing 6 years of suspended license, two criminal charges on my record, and jail time. The prosecutor wasn't willing to offer a plea deal that was even remotely attractive, which led to my case going to trial. The trial was not only lengthy, but intense as both sides presented their arguments and examinations as well as a video of my stop and arrest. Throughout the process, Mr. Manikas not only displayed a thorough knowledge of the law, but his aggressive yet professional approach to countering not only the prosecutor but the officer as well. In the end, both charges were dismissed and I am able to move on with my life. Hiring a good lawyer may be pricey but it's worth every penny. Not only for the sake of my driving privileges and my freedom, but financially as well. By being found not guilty, I don't have to spend money on high court fines, ASAP classes, or interlock maintenance.
