I am a native of the Northern Virginia area.  I was born in Washington, D.C., and attended Arlington and Fairfax County Public Schools. I earned my Bachelor’s of Business Administration from James Madison University (1991), a Master’s degree in International Business Transactions from George Mason University (1995), and my Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois, College of Law (1999).

Over the past 20 years, I have primarily served as a trial attorney for divorce and criminal defense cases. In 2004, I became a certified Guardian ad litem and represented children involved in custody disputes, truancy, delinquency, abuse and neglect cases. I have personally handled over a hundred bench and jury trials in criminal cases and over a hundred hearings/trials involving divorce, child custody and support issues. Â

I also assist client's in the hospitality industry. For 15 years, I was a professor of Hospitality Law and Management at the Northern Virginia Community College. I assist many local small business owners with business formation, lease agreements, and contract disputes. Based on my experiences owining and managing businesses, as well as my trial experience, I am able to provide my business clients with practical and cost-effective solutions.

I practice primarily in the state courts of Fairfax County, Prince William County, Arlington County, City of Alexandria, City of Fredricksburg, Fauqier County, Loudoun County, Spotsylvania County and Stafford County, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.  I have also argued before the Virginia Supreme Court as well as the Court of Appeals for Virginia.Â
