If you've never tasted a cherry pie before or this is the first time you tasted a cherry pie, it's nigh on to impossible to grade the cherry pie. Only after you've eaten many cherry pies from many sources will you truly be able to grade the cherry pie. Mr. Lau is the first lawyer I ever used to su...e anyone for anything. He had to figure out who to sue because Sears had defaulted on a warranty they had sold me for my appliances, but Sears had broken up/bankrupted and it wasn't clear where the responsibility for the defaulted warranty rested in the remaining Sears business. Mr. Lau made it perfectly clear to me that in pursuing the law suit I was risking any money I put into the effort because I very well might not win anything. Mr. Lau figured it out -- Transformco -- and we brought them to court on December 20, 2023, where the judge - Donald McDonough - told us that companies don't honor the warranty because they don't have to (they do it because they can). Therein lies the difficulty; Mr. Lau wasn't working in a fair environment. There is no justice for the American consumer because the law doesn't allow the consumer to win his case; the entire court system seems to be corrupt. The judge probably had some good stock holdings or other bias that ensured Mr. Lau would not come away the big winner. Therefore, I did not recover all of the legal expenses -- probably @ 10% of them. Transformco did have to pay for repair of the refrigerator but not much more.

Mr. Lau has a background in many related areas, so he can proceed without taking time to research basic information. He is clear and concise. He provided estimates of both time and cost to pursue the matter at hand. He made it clear that the action I enquired about would cost more time and money... than it was worth. While I am disappointed that issue will go unaddressed, it's a relief to just move on to other projects. I have another matter that I will definitely discuss with him.
