Liar

For context I am a young girl and Mark took advantage of that. He charged an insane amount to help me with my wreckless ticket but I agreed to it so that’s on me. When I met him at court he lied to me and told me that he could get it off my record and all I had to pay was court fees. He told me word ...for word that it won’t be on my record. I was so relieved and happy I thought I got off scott free. Later on I go and check my public records and I admitted guilty to failure to pay attention. I’m not mad that I got that charge but I’m mad that he lied to my face and had me sign something that I didn’t know what I was signing for. Then, many months later after my court case maybe 6 months have gone by and he told me that I never paid him and that he will be taking legal action against me, a very threatening message out of the blue. I showed him my bank statement of me paying him before we even went to court and he didn’t even have the decency to respond.

extremely rude

Mark Dycio called me on July 26th around 9am and was very belligerent. He would not let me get a word in. and was simply yelling at me to give him a recording of a session between me and any accounting client hat we record online. I stated that I had to hung up and not sure if he could hear me over t...he his yelling. There he kept calling me back and I had to block his number. I did sent a complaint to the Virgina State Bar.

Most Terrible Law Firm

I am only writing this so others can make an unbiased opinion. Unlike what others may have stated, my experience with this firm has been terrible. Mark may be a good Attorney for DUI and other Traffic related offenses but for handling Criminal Defense he is definitely not the man, besides being ex...pensive and making wrong excess charges you never agreed to and were not aware of he is not out there for you in these matters. Mark Dycio of course is the first person to come meet and talk with you up until you have made all the payments. After you have made your payments, his role ends, he rarely responds to emails and is unaware of what is going on with your case. A few days before your case is to come up for hearing Mark will send out an email letting you know that something has come up either with his parents or his wife or kids and that he will not be in Court and one of his juniors, he refers to as partners, will be there in Court to represent you. This so called partner will email you a couple of days before the Court Date asking you to come into their office the day before the Court Date to discuss the case and that is all the time they will spend and they, his juniors, will decide what the best plea you would possible get even before the trial and will tell you that to set your low expectations in advance. They thrust it down your throat, what they want to do and what they want YOU to do. Not what is right or what should be done. They don't care whether you are going to be jailed or if your life will become miserable after that, no, they just don't care and all they care about is money which they have already pocketed. So yes, I am sure others who have dealt with this firm have had similar experiences. The difference might be in the expectations already set with the clients which probably left them happy. But for me I am knowledgeable in law but do not have a law degree so I hired them but they just did not do the right thing. First promising to represent me and a few days before the Court date telling me he was not available and assigning a junior to represent me leaving me dry, was not an ethical thing in my opinion to do by Mark Dycio. I just wish Mark Dycio had been more open from the beginning telling me he would not be able to represent me and one of his firm's attorney's instead would represent me, giving me an opportunity to choose between this firm or seeking out another attorney, instead of telling me at the last minute and leaving me without options to consider another attorney more experienced who would have gotten me the results I really deserved.

Dycio used to be a good lawyer but now doesn't care.

Mark Dycio, Esq. used to be well know as a very effective defense attorney. However, over the past few years many of his clients have received inferior representation from him and have gone elsewhere, myself included. He offs his cases now to his junior lawyers and pushes clients to accept the first ...plea bargain he gets whereas in the past he would have fought tooth and nail for a dismissal. He just no longer has any real fight left in him. The last time I used him I was quoted one rate but when the bill arrived it was not what he said it would be but rather a considerable amount more. When I asked him about it HE LIED and said he told me what it would be when he said no such thing. I've since used another lawyer for representation and the difference was apparent right away in both billing and the fight to win the case. I wish I had reviews like this one to rely on before I used Dycio in the first place. I certainly know better now.

I understand the purpose of a website such as this is to allow potential clients the opportunity to review their options and make an educated decision about an attorney they are considering hiring. However, it is too easy for a negative review to be written without proof or facts in the case so someone has the opportunity to defend themselves. I have no information with regard to this review or the case in question and cannot respond in any detail. I can however say that any person who walks down the hallway of the courthouse can independently confirm that I fight for each and every client. Any statement that I “push the first plea agreement” is patently false. To the contrary, I continue to fight tooth and nail for dismissals in order to protect my client’s best interest. It is safe to say that I try most every case as my clients expect and receive my best effort. Our clients receive first class and professional representation from this law firm. All fee quotes are made clear to clients during the initial consultation and letters of engagements are executed so there are no misunderstandings. We work tirelessly to obtain the best results for our clients. To the degree this review was written by a competitor lawyer shame on you.

He Never Showed Up

Hired him for a federal case. I had multiple hearings which he didn't attend. Instead a young inexperienced attorney who admitted he had no experience in federal court continued to show up. Each time he said "Mark couldn't make, but he'll be here next time". I got rid of them once I got wise to w...hat was going on, but I was in a huge disadvantage because I only had about a week to get a new attorney and prepare for a federal trial.

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"I am a lawyer with the same practice as Mark. I have observed him in action, in and out of the courtroom, and i am awed by his overall skills. In the courtroom there is none better. Mark knows the law and will never back down to a Judge or a prosecutor in the zealous representation of his clients. When there are legal problems, in my practice, I turn to Mark Dycio. Mark resolves them without hesitation. If I was personally in need of a lawyer I would hire Mark Dycio. He is a lawyer's lawyer, and sometimes a magician!!!"

Criminal defense lawyer | Aug 19

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community

"Mark is a highly accomplished and seasoned criminal defense and commercial lawyer. A skillful negotiator and masterful litigator, he comes ready to fight. Mark never shirks from the opportunity to take a case to trial. The demeanor, confidence, and wit he exhibits in the courtroom are impressive. Thinking on his feet is second nature and his instincts are right on. He is adept at challenging evidence and witness, and developing new arguments. It is one thing to win a case with good facts, but "making something out of nothing" in a case with facts not so favorable to your client requires a special set of skills and talent."
