Charlotte was my 3rd divorce attorney in a 2 year period of dealing with the divorce from my wife, and the custody issues regarding my children. By the time I found her, the first two attorney's had done unimaginable damage to my case, and drained me of the little funds I had left to work with. ... Charlotte took my case knowing it was a disaster, and damage control was going to be tough. She took my case when I had to make payments to her, and she did not charge me the full amount knowing my circumstances. First of all, the attorney is not very good at communication. She doesn't reply to client's e-mails, she'll instead write letters, then have it scanned by her assistant and send by email the next day but she won't reply directly to client's e-mails. She does conveniently use e-mail when she needs to ...reach client urgently for clarification but will not answer anything the client wants to clarify quickly over e-mail. Important case material is not forwarded to client for days at times. Since she doesn't work on Fridays, that added to my case getting delayed just due to lack of communication between me, her and the opposing counsel. Before I hired her, she sounded as though, if the case demanded, she'll work even on Fridays and weekends to get the job done but that's a complete lie as it hasn't happened once in 6 months. I sent her over 20-30 e-mails during the case asking for case updates and how I wanted to settle the case, the issues I needed clarification on or any suggestions I had. Of those 30 e-mails maybe she responded to 5 of them. Only way to reach her is to book a phone or in-person appointment and sometimes she may not be available for days. When you talk to her, the least you expect is for her to have read your e-mails and questions. But she has no clue what you are talking about on the phone because she hardly reads any client e-mails -- then you have to explain her all over. Regarding the case itself, I asked her to add one or two lines to the draft of final judgment, but, as usual she missed reading that e-mail or may have even deliberately ignored taking my suggestion into account and forwarded it to the other party and they signed it. When I asked about it later, she says "it's already done, sorry, cannot be modified now!" Given all the above issues, I honestly cannot recommend her to anyone. For $350/hr you will get a lot of good, patient and down-to-earth lawyers who actually listen to what the client says and solve clients' problems the way the client wants it.

I consulted Charlotte Weinstein for my divorce. She appeared to listen attentively and took copious notes about my situation. She told me she intended to get back to me with a draft separation agreement within the week. I left her office feeling confident and hopeful. The week passed. I heard nothing.... Then more weeks passed with no communication from Charlotte. I emailed her several times, politely requesting status of the draft agreement. Finally, two months later she emailed me what was clearly a boilerplate separation agreement that had not one thing to do with my situation, despite all the notes she had taken at the consult. The draft was in full-blown lawyerese, and there were gaps in sections where sentences just trailed off. I was then expected to invest time and money into trying to salvage her unconscionably abysmal work. At over $400 an hour, the corrections would easily have run into the thousands. I had had enough and realized it was time to cut my losses. I fired her and engaged an excellent, attentive attorney at a firm in Annapolis. Charlotte did not refund even a portion of my retainer, so it was a costly lesson. Don’t make the same mistake.

Absolutely do not recommend this attorney. I’m shocked at her reviews, maybe she scared people into submission. Not kidding- I’ve actually Never left a bad review before but this woman is scary. It’s taken me seven years to actually tell this story because she is so threatening. After my husband aban...doned me she actually dropped my case in the middle of everything!!
