I now live in FL and had a home in MD that was upside down for years. I rented the home hoping at some point I would be able to sell it with little to know loss. When my renter moved out and I found out how far upside down I was I looked into a short sale. I first went though the real estate company ...for help on completing the short sale. Days before the closing was to go through the sale was denied. Not wanting to have to foreclose on property I looked around for a law firm to review my case and see if I could do a short sale. When you have no money and you're about to lose your home because you can't pay the mortgage and you try and try again to qualify for HAMP, but nothing works, you get a lawyer.
