Very professional, understanding and caring

I had a pleasure to work with Alison Brown on an immigration matter. I talked to several attorneys beforehand. My friend has recommended her, but I still wanted to talk to several attorneys before hiring one since my question was deemed somewhat uncommon. I was very impressed for following reasons: 1...) she really paid attention to details and asked pointed questions; 2) she didn’t overpromise anything, 3) she had a great understanding of the matter and didn't consider my question "minor", and 4) she was very responsive in a follow up. As she was working on my matter, she kept providing very prompt feedback and did very professional and thorough work. Even more importantly to me, she has treated my somewhat small and unusual matter with respect, understanding and caring. I’m really glad I made the right decision to work with Alison Brown.

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"I have known Alison Brown since 1998 when she hired me for my first immigration law job after law school. Since that time she has been a close colleague and mentor. There are other lawyers with Alison's extensive experience, but next to none with the knowledge, creativity, drive and most of all compassion for her clients and the law itself."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
