Ali Herischi

Ali Herischi is the Principal at the law firm of Herischi & Associates. He practices in areas of export control; Iran's sanctions, immigration, general business and corporate, and nonprofit organization.

Additionally, he represents clients in business negotiation and mediation settings. Mr. Herischi is a licensed mediator and conducts mediation sessions for business, family, and individual conflicts.

Mr. Herischi is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law. While at Maryland Law, he was the president of the International Law Society for two years, vice president of the Alternative Dispute Resolutions Group, and competed in ABA regional negotiation competition. In addition, he achieved the University of Maryland's Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Diversity Award for his effort in establishing a program to help rebuild the Golf Coast legal system after hurricanes Rita and Katrina.

Mr. Herischi is currently the board member of Iranian American Bar Association, District of Columbia Chapter. He is also the executive manager of Seven Magazine.

In last few years he had successfully handled hundreds of immigration cases. He represents clients in variety of immigration matters, including investment-based cases, such as EB-5, E-2, L-1, EB1, and H1-b. He represents many immigrants in immigration courts and appellate bodies. He had successfully sued USCIS on behalf of one of his clients in the Federal District Court.

Mr. Herischi is the legal expert for VOA, including the weekly show of Law in America. He has been appeared in many TV programs on BBC Persian, VOA, AL-Jazeera, CNN, Bloomberg, FOX, DW Radio, NPR, and other major media.

Mr. Herischi received his Masters of Science degree from Johns Hopkins University and Juris Doctor from University of Maryland School of Law.  He is currently residing in Maryland, US, and admitted in Maryland Bar Association.
