Highly recommended family lawyers at BRP Family Law

Mr. Pearlstein and Ms. Renehan handled my case very professionally, responsively, and with great knowledge. My case was unique as I needed to transfer custody from another state to Maryland, which required a thorough modification. Having both of them made me feel safe and heard. They were always on t...op of my needs, meeting deadlines, and, best of all, they were there for me. They had the best interests not just for me as their client, but also for my child. They were very passionate about what they do. Lastly, their extensive experience in Family Law is what makes them a powerhouse in helping me achieve the custody agreement that I have wanted.

Hand-offs are for football, not divorce cases

My experience is similar to the other one star rating. I was blindsided with a protective order that was the opening salvo in a nasty divorce and contacted Mr. Pearlstein as a result of glowing testimonials. With the PO I needed immediate representation and, to be fair, he said he had schedule confli...cts with existing cases but eventually said he represent me. I was contacted by a junior attorney who brushed aside questions about experience and strategy, including my desire for a continuation of the case for better preparation and why she was wasting resources attempting to serve a subpoena on my spouse when we were due in court the following day (the charge came for that folly was about $700 as I recall). Cut to the chase, my desire for a continuance was brushed off; the junior attorney had poor trial skills, including a complete inability to cross-examine; a 1 year PO w/3 hrs a week of supervised visitation was imposed, despite my spouse's; and I was hit with an additional $800 bill. The junior attorney stopped responding to my calls and I turned to MY SPOUSE'S ATTORNEY for recommendations on visitation supervisors, which turned out to be the best advice I received in my divorce, as the supervisor became my best witness. My eventual attorney couldn't understand the rationale for the decisions that were made at this important event, which set the acrimonious tone and put me in an unnecessary hole, which was eventually mitigated but never overcome. I'm sure that Mr. Pearlstein is an excellent attorney; I've heard more than one person rave about him. Unfortunately one can only shower him with accolades if one receives his representation, not that of a less competent surrogate.

God helped me through my lawyers

I am from India. I did not know anything about US law system. My daughter is a US citizen. I was represented by Mr Brian Pearlstein and Ms Maureen Renehan- Brodsky, Renehan, Pearlstein & Bouquet chartered. My case was very complicated- custody battle for my daughter which was going on for 5 years. W...hen my brother first suggested Mr Pearlstein to me, I was very apprehensive if anybody would really understand my situation . Not only did Mr Pearlstein and Maureen understand what was going on they made sure that everybody in the court room did. As I was in India, I went to US only for the trial which was 12 months later after the case was first filed in the court. They had to cross many hurdles even before the trail without my presence in the court. They were always prompt with answering all my questions and concerns, supported me emotionally and were always there for me. He was always very quick to respond, made himself available during times that most would consider after hours. I cannot thank them enough. Mr Pearstein was brilliant and outstanding in the court. In the courtroom he is incredibly prepared and organised. His advice and guidance, I believe, helped shape my case into a much stronger one. I appreciate all the efforts they put into my case and helped me get the custody of my daughter. They are a great team and you would be very fortunate to have them represent you!

Experienced and effective

Brian Pearlstein represented me through a lengthy, contentious divorce. My ex-wife was trying to avoid a settlement and divorce at all costs, and she dug in her heels, obstructed, and delayed at every step of the way. Before giving the case to Brian, I spent a year trying to work out an amicable sett...lement with her and got nowhere. Once I gave Brian the case, he kept up a steady flow of paperwork to my ex and her lawyer, moved the case along as fast as the courts would permit, and ultimately brought my ex to the settlement table and finalized the divorce. Brian is a big-picture person. He knows when to yield lesser points and where to dig in and stand firm. He was direct and honest about what was or wasn’t worth contesting. He was able to juggle lots of variables and spot the right time to do a deal. He also did whatever he could to contain costs at every step of the way. When I had to move cross-country halfway through the process, we continued to manage the process by email, phone and FedEx without a hitch. If I had a query for Brian, I could count on a response within a few hours. Brian was also able to put me in contact with other local professionals as needed, such as a broker to handle a long-distance distressed sale of real estate as part of the property split. Brian Pearlstein is experienced and effective, and I couldn’t have asked for a better advocate through a challenging and painful process.

Review of Brian Pearlstein

Brian and his firm does excellent work. He has been very responsive and have been able to thoroughly answer my questions. When I walked into his office for our first meeting, I was completely frustrated and distraught. It's not easy to take being accused of something that you know is a complete and f...abricated lie for monetary gain. After talking with Brian I was completely relieved and at ease. He explained my situation from a legal standpoint and gave me enough information during our first meeting that enabled me to workout a strategy to protect myself. I would use him again and I would highly recommend him.
