Susan Werner Scofield

Absolutely poor...and it seems like she went on a pre-retirement streak taking money and screwing people over. That's not cool susie!! Do not waste a penny, clearly, people are going out of their way to let you know how bad you failed them. You failed me and my kids....that is not ok. And that, you w...ill answer for. Literally taking someones last dime, knowing it and absolutely incompetentand dishonest. Absolutely disgusting human and should not have professional license.

I am submitting this formal complaint regarding the professional conduct and handling of my legal matter by attorney Susan Werner Scofield, whom I retained in the fall of 2023 for representation in a property dispute. Over the past two years, Ms. Scofield has demonstrated a pattern of inadequate c...ommunication, a lack of diligence, and failure to properly manage or advance my case. Below is a summary of the issues: Excessive Delay: Despite being retained in 2023 and having a hearing in April 2024, my case remains unresolved with no meaningful progress or clear explanation for the ongoing delay. Poor and Inconsistent Communication: I have made multiple attempts to contact Ms. Scofield through phone messages, emails, and texts. My inquiries have frequently gone unanswered or received delayed, minimal responses. This has left me without necessary information about the status of my case. Last-Minute Requirements: After nearly two years of representation, Ms. Scofield recently informed me that a property survey is required—something that should have been identified and communicated much earlier in the process. This indicates a lack of diligence and proper case management. Unprofessional Conduct and Misrepresentation: Ms. Scofield’s inconsistent communication, failure to follow through, and lack of transparency have caused significant emotional distress, financial uncertainty, and prolonged hardship. Her actions have not met the professional standards expected of legal counsel. Because of these issues, I no longer have confidence in Ms. Scofield’s ability to represent my interests ethically or effectively.

Susie doesn't keep the appointments she sets, didn't make any progress on my case and is unavailable to answer questions majority of the time. Lovely office staff but cannot extend that to Susie and her work ethic. Hired her Nov 2023 and it is now March 2025 and she still hasnt finished filing the do...cuments she promised. She will over promise and severley under deliver.
