Life is full of transitions and turning points. Dealing with change is challenging enough; when change involves legal questions, it can be overwhelming. With the right help, it doesn’t have to be. As a life changes attorney, my goal is to help make the big changes you may face—marriage, divorce, and guardianship—easier.
You don’t have to move through major, and sometimes chaotic, life changes alone. I will work with you to identify your needs and goals, explore your options, and give you the legal guidance you need to make informed decisions. You remain in control, with the support and resources you need to feel confident moving forward.
I have concentrated my practice in family law and related issues for more than 20 years, and am a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML). I am committed to helping individuals and families navigate legal concerns, customizing my approach to their unique needs and circumstances.
Sometimes that means simply offering legal guidance and reviewing agreements. Other times it means helping a client negotiate the terms of an agreement or settlement. And, when necessary, it may mean litigating the resolution of a dispute in court. Whatever the process, my priority is helping you achieve the outcome you need with a minimum of stress and disruption, and with hope and a sense of empowerment.
I have been a family law attorney since 2002, representing clients in divorce, child custody, support, prenuptial agreements, guardianship, and related issues.
I am licensed to practice law in Maryland. I accept cases around the state, and frequently practice in Montgomery, Howard, Frederick, and Anne Arundel Counties.

Exquisitely Adept with Navigating Hard Life Transitions
This spring was the second time I worked with Lindsay during a life transition. The first time was ten years ago, when her expertise and compassionate, attentive approach made navigating the challenges of divorce manageable and far less frightening. At that time, she respectfully advocated for me whe...

Not the worst
While Miss Parvis is an excellent communicator, we found her objecting to things the Judge was baffled by. Not the most polished litigator.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. I sincerely appreciate the feedback, as I know it takes effort to leave a review and be candid about your experience. I’m glad you felt my communication was effective in some respects, but I’m truly sorry to hear that your courtroom experience left you feeling disappointed. That’s never the outcome I want for anyone I work with. I do my best to create opportunities for honest feedback through conversations, surveys, and communication with my team, so it’s difficult to hear that those avenues did not make you feel comfortable enough to share your concerns sooner. I genuinely would have appreciated the chance to better understand your perspective and talk through your experience directly, and I still would. Since the review is anonymous, I unfortunately don’t know who to reach out to. When someone has taken the time to share concerns or frustrations with me, I’ve always tried to make space for those conversations because I genuinely care about listening and understanding their perspective, so please feel free to reach out.

Steady Guidance on the Road to a New Beginning
I hired Lindsay based on a referral, and from our first conversation I felt confident in her approach and her ability to guide me through a process that was new to me. Her communication was consistently responsive, clear, and reassuring. She explained each step in a way that made the legal process ea...

Terrible experience
Decisions that had been extensively discussed were never implemented. There was no strategy, except to "pause" work, which effectively sunk my case. I communicated in my first email to Ms. Parvis that I wanted to settle as soon as possible. She initiated settlement discussions two months after I r...
Thank you for your feedback. I truly value hearing from clients, positive or critical, as it helps me learn, grow, and continually improve the way I serve others. I also appreciate your insight about the importance of alignment between an attorney and client when it comes to goals and potential outcomes. You’re absolutely right - clear communication and shared expectations are essential in building a strong working relationship, especially in matters as personal and complex as legal representation. This is important information for anyone to consider when hiring an attorney, and it’s something I take seriously in my practice. If there’s anything more you’d like to share about your experience or ways we can improve, please feel free to contact the office, as I welcome the opportunity to listen and better understand your perspective. Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts.

Competent and compassionate attorney
Attorney Parvis is a wonderful human and a knowledgeable divorce lawyer. She was with me every step of a very difficult and lengthy path, often when I was confused and needed to discuss different scenarios, and yet I never felt pushed or discounted. She is honest, realistic and caring. She knows her ...
