Hector Zdenko Oropeza

Hector Z. Oropeza is a seasoned personal injury attorney focused on securing justice and maximum recoveries for injured clients. Since joining Morgan & Morgan in 2023, Mr. Oropeza has litigated a wide range of injury matters — including automobile and trucking collisions, products liability, negligent security, slip-and-fall, and pedestrian accidents — and recently obtained a sizeable pre‑trial settlement for an injured client. His current practice emphasizes aggressive investigation, meticulous preparation, and practical courtroom experience to resolve cases favorably both at mediation and trial.

Earlier in his career Mr. Oropeza handled criminal defense matters (DUI, driving with a suspended license, theft, possession, assault) and gained extensive trial and client-advocacy experience; he now lists that work in his past practice experience while concentrating his active caseload on civil personal injury. He also brings a strong transactional and corporate background to his litigation work from his time at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP, where he structured and reorganized hedge funds and private equity entities and participated in advocacy for Guantanamo Bay detainees. Prior roles include associate work at Cohen & Cohen, P.C. and serving as Vice President of Legal Affairs for Capital Reporting Company. He is a founding member of Oropeza Law Firm, PLLC.

Mr. Oropeza earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and his J.D. from Howard University School of Law, where he competed on the International Moot Court Team and served as Vice President of La Alianza. He is a member of the Hispanic Bar Association of the District of Columbia and the Bar Association of the District of Columbia and has been listed on the Continental Who’s Who Registry of National Business Leaders.

Committed to access to justice, Mr. Oropeza volunteered with Christian Legal Aid at Covenant Life Church and represents indigent defendants through Maryland’s Appointed Attorney Program. He continues to advocate vigorously for clients in the D.C. and Maryland area and is available for consultations regarding personal injury matters.
