     I am a lifelong resident of Montgomery County, Maryland and practice Criminal Defense law in the Federal and State Courts of Maryland and the District of Columbia. I am a very proud graduate of the University of Maryland and University of Baltimore Law School. I have been honored in 2009 to serve as Chair of the Maryland State Bar Association Criminal Law Section Council and to previously have served as President of the Maryland Criminal Defense Attorney Association. I am also serving my fourth 4 year term as the Criminal Defense representative on the Maryland State Commission on Criminal Sentencing Policy appointed by Governor Hogan. (). In nearly 35 years of practice now, I have handled a wide range of different types of cases including approximately 50 homicides cases, complex Federal drug and white collar type cases, and nearly every other type of criminal and traffic case. I am also widely known as an expert in asset forfeiture matters.
     In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and 3 children, 2 son-in laws and 2 beautiful grand babies, and competing in many different sports.  I enjoy golf. biking and 10K road races.  I also enjoy attending Washington Capitals hockey, University of Maryland football and basketball games.

Totally Awesome
I have known Mr. Finci for twenty years. He is truly a great human being. He cares about his clients. In twenty years I have referred a dozen or so people to him, he has been successful in every single case. I do not know how he beats every case, but he does. Even though he is a criminal defense attorney, he handled an insurance case for me when several other attorneys were not successful. The insurance company paid $15000, the amount we were asking them to pay. He is just the best, period!

He is honest and he kept me out of JAIL
Richard Finci was the first criminal lawyer that I have ever had to hire. I was facing between 5 and 30 years with all of my charges. He somehow managed to get the prosecutor to drop all of the mandatory minimum charges and I didn't have to spend any time in jail. Instead, I got 12 months of unsupervised probation. I am extremely happy because I get to spend time watching my infant child grow instead of behind bars. With all of the stress of this whole ordeal, I accidentally overpaid Mr.Finci! He contacted me as soon as he recognize the problem and was honest enough to let me know that I had overpaid and issued me a refund! I use to say that an honest lawyer is an oxymoron but he changed my opinion. I really trust him and would recommend him to anyone who needs a good attorney.

Highly recommend Mr. Finci
Mr. Finci was recommended to me by a lawyer friend. My initial consultation was very efficient: Mr. Finci asked a few questions, told me exactly what I could do to help my case, and provided me with practical information about what to expect. He was always very professional, prompt, and straightforward with emails and formal letters. Mr. Finci made it such that the court appearance was very quick and resulted in an excellent result. Mr. Finci is very familiar with traffic law (among other types of law based on other reviews here!) and I highly recommend him!

I highly recommend Mr. Finci
Mr. Finci was recommended to me by a prior prosecuting attorney. Throughout my entire case, Mr. Finci made me feel as though my case was one of his top priorities. He always returned my calls promptly and paid attention to details. I always felt that I was being well represented. He is very personable, but pragmatic. He is a straight shooter..always lays out the facts in an understandable manner and helps you make the decisions that are best for you and your family during a very difficult and stressful period in your life. I firmly believe that if it weren't for his representation, my case would not have resulted in a favorable outcome. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a criminal defense attorney.

Amazing!
Rick Finci provided amazing representation during some very dark times. He is proactive, skilled, and surprisingly empathic. Not only did he work hard to ensure limited jailtime but always ensured judgments that provided help for my underlying issues. Finci's legal expertise with alcohol and addiction produced fair judgments that strenghened my recovery. I am nearly 1 year sober with probation to end shortly after. I honestly do not know where I would be if I had not had Mr. Finci as my legal council

Mr. Finci is an incredible Attorney. He has always put forth his expertise in dealing with my cases. He has won every case for me. I can't say enough great things about this lawyer. He is the best criminal attorney in MD!

Misdemeanor Traffic Charge
I recently had Mr. Finci represent me in a traffic case. Mr. Finci was professional and accommodating from my very first meeting with him. He kept me informed and I felt reassured with him representing me. I’m definitely pleased with the final outcome of my case and his level of service.

Recommended
Rick helped my son out on both traffic and possession charges. He was straight to the point, understood the intricacies of juvenile law, and was very effective in negotiating with the prosecutor, which greatly simplified court appearances and kept the stress to a minimum.
