Charles Gregory Abney

Mr. Abney has dedicated his practice to providing personal, one-to-one legal services at a reasonable cost to clients.  The legal community and society have moved to automation, economy of scale, and assembly line approaches to reduce cost.  Mr. Abney has moved to reduction of overhead and reduction of redundancy (too many people doing the same thing and charging for it) to reduce costs so that he can provide direct and personal contact to his clients, instead of automation or redundancy.  This allows Mr. Abney to provide services for a generally lower cost and to provide the client with direct access to the attorney who will be with the client throughout the case. 

Mr. Abney is a litigation attorney practicing family law in Montgomery County and surrounding counties. He is a member in good standing with the Maryland State Bar Association, the Montgomery County Bar Association, and the Maryland Association for Justice (formerly the Maryland Trial Lawyers Association). He earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, graduating magna cum laude. He then attended the University of Maryland School of Law, where he earned his Juiris Doctorate. He is admitted to practice in all Maryland State Courts, in Washington D.C., and the U.S. Federal District Courts of Maryland.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Abney was a member of the U.S. Army and stationed at several army bases in the U.S. and in the Pacific. After his military service, and while attending school, Mr. Abney worked for a multinational private sector corporation as a product coordinator in tactical marketing. It is this previous experience that Mr. Abney credits for his understanding of professions and occupations outside of the legal arena. This understanding, he believes, allows him to provide high quality legal representation to many of his clients.
