Mr. Rosefelt's practice focuses on representing individuals and small businesses with serious tax and financial problems such as un-filed tax returns, banruptcy, tax audits, criminal tax investigations, administrative appeals, tax court litigation, bankruptcy litigation, unpaid payroll taxes and resolution of large tax debts for high income indivudals through the offer in compromise program or by discharging tax in bankruptcy. Mr. Rosefelt regularly appears before the United States Tax Court, the Bankruptcy Court and administratively before the Internal Revenue Service, the District of Columbia Office of Tax and Revenue, the Comptroller of Maryland and various state taxing authorities. Mr. Rosefelt previously was an Adjunct Professor of Tax Law and Adjunct Professor of Legal Research and Writing at Stetson University College of Law, where he graduated with honors in 1991, was a Legal Research & Writing Teaching Fellow and published member of Law Review. Before attending lawschool, Mr. Rosefelt worked in public accounting and private industry as an auditor and tax accountant. Mr. Rosefelt graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison in 1981 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. Mr. Rosefelt is currently the Secretary for the American Academy of Attorney-CPA's, Chairman of the National Education Comittee for the American Academy of Attorney-CPA's, and Vice Chair of the Tax Collection, Bankruptcy & Workouts Committee of the American Bar Association. Mr. Rosefelt is licensed to practice law in Maryland, Washington D.C., and Florida. He is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Maryland and Florida.
