Exceptional real estate advice + high responsivness

Having worked with dozens of different transactional, land-use, regulatory and finance counsel over the years, I can state that Ed West is at the top of my list as an exceptional real estate attorney. Ed completed many complex lease, ground-lease and financing assignments for me when I was at both a... publicly-held company and a national private equity/development firm. He was able to provide great deal of clarity, risk mitigation and speed in completing the legal work. The transactions involved large investments with institutional-caliber participants. Ed is extremely responsive, personable and highly respected in top flight real estate circles. He is also a pleasure to work with. He has both a diplomatic style and great efficiency of billing time -- sometimes a rare combination in legal circles.

Recommendation of Mr. Edward West

Mr. West has worked for me for over 25 years on office buildings, industrial properties, and multi-family properties. During that time he negotiated leases with both private and public sector tenants, directed environmental remediation, and managed acquisitions and sales. I have been completely com...fortable knowing Mr. West was protecting my interests and negotiating on my behalf. Mr. West was also completely fair as relates to billing, always being sure I did not overpay for services. I would absolutely recommend Mr. West for any real estate transaction.

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"I am a partner in the real estate group of the law firm of Arent Fox in Washington, D.C. and I enthusiastically endorse this lawyer. I have known Ed West for more than 25 years and have worked with Ed on many leases over the years - on the opposite side of the table. Ed is very bright and knowledgeable and is a "lawyer's lawyer," with deep experience in representing landlords and tenants in commerical lease transactions. He is a consummate professional who looks for creative ways to solve problems to accomplish his clients' goals."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
