Made a painful process easier

Divorce is never easy, but Mr. Leahy made the process as easy as possible. From almost immediate repsonses via email to actually hand filing court documents, you can tell Mr. Leahy really cares about his clients. He explained every detail of each step, and was patient with every question or concern... that I had.

Some relief simply from consultation

For the past several month's, i've been going back in forth with my rental community for faulty (and recently discovered hazardous/illegal installations) water heater issues. I spoke to Mr. Leahy and he explained what my options were and the benefit of each one. The tone and conversation with him d...efinitely let me know that I wasn't "stuck between a rock and a hard place" with trying to see what my legal options were when it comes to resolving my issues.

A true professional in every sense of the word

Tim's professionalism, persistence, and ability to convey nuanced legal issues both to me and my family were of great comfort and support during a protracted, contentious and complex estate property partition case. I could not have asked for better counsel, and am truly satisfied with the results.

Honest & responsible

He is one of those rare lawyers who really looks after YOU. During my long legal battle, he was my voice of reason. He always kept me informed of consequences of my decisions and tried to work things out with my best interest in mind.

Civil/Family Dispute Case

Tim was/is very informative regarding our case. He kept us up to date with information and guided us through the legal system with thoughtful and savvy professionalism. Our case included a 10 year old case which his firm handled some time ago with a ton of paperwork and some difficult people. The ...way Tim handled what could have been a very ugly case was amazing. I have dealt with lawyers and the legal system in the past and Tim has changed my opinion about lawyers in general. Not only is he knowledgeable in his field, he is able to translate all of the legal red tape into simple, everyday language that a non-legal person can understand. Kudos to Tim and Byrd and Byrd!

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"Tim did a great job holding my feet to the fire! He was opposing counsel in a DC family case involving military family issues, and complex custody challenges. He was not only professional, but he was fair, and demonstrated excellent client management. He gave enough to keep the negotiations going, but held back enough to ensure his client was ably represented. Through his work, both parties saved on the cost of a full trial. I might also add that he has a good sense of humor, is entirely approachable, and knows the law cold. When he is unsure about a given fact or reference, he indicates it and requests time to research the matter. Refreshingly civil and easy going, I highly recommend Tim to anyone seeking representation in family law in DC or MD."

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"I endorse this lawyer. Tim Leahy performed magnificently as my co-counsel in complex litigation. He located the expert we needed to make our case, waded through thousands of pages of documents to identify the key elements of the case, and pressured the other side into settlement. He was also easy to work with; we teamed together well. He is excellent dealing with others, be it clients, opposing counsel or others."
