Mr. Kernbach was recommended for my family to use due to a Workers Comp case. With never having to use legal, Mr. Kernbach was very aggressive with handling the matter and was very confident in winning the case. Early in my Va. State Police career, I injured a knee during a scuba assignment. Torn meniscus. Surgery required so I was placed on WC leave. I had difficulty with VSP administration regarding the WC compensation. Mr. Kernbach assisted in correction of the difficulties I encountered. Subsequently, I... injured that same knee again on another dive while lifting a drowned victim out of the water. Another surgery required. During an undercover assignment I sustained a knee injury to the other knee which also required surgery. Over time, the knee with two injuries worsened and subsequently, I retired on a service incurred injury. Initially, the WC board denied my petition for retirement so a hearing before a WC officer, a representative of the AG's office. Mr. Kernbach appeared with me at the hearing at the WC office. As a result of Mr. Kernbach's assistance, my claim was granted and I retired with a service incurred (3) injury. After hiring this attorney for a workers compensation matter Kernbach failed me greatly in my case. Communication was terrible. He is not an aggressive attorney, when I needed help and things got tough he treated my case like a side job. In short, he did a half job.
