Very fortunate to find Mr. Barton thru Avvo

Among the answers to my questions, Mr. Barton's answer was the most concrete with reference to relevant court rulings. I initiated contact with Mr. Barton to explore my options, and I was extremely impressed by how he responded to my inquiries and questions. I have since decided to hire Mr. Barton to... represent me for my case.

liberty life class action suit

Mr. Barton and his team brought dignity and respect for veterans who became disabled through their service by bringing suit against Liberty Life for off-setting VA benefits, per contract with a civilian employer. Much gratitude and appreciation for their hard work .

The LaBow case

Joe came to our rescue almost 5 years ago when our company went bankrupt and we needed to carry on our action against a bad pension fund investment manager. I sat with Joe for a two week federal trial and come to appreciate his preparedness, his professionalism and his ability to think on his feet.... He has treated us with curtesy, exhibited much patience and has been a pleasure to work with.

Employee Benefits (ESOP) Class Action Lawsuit

In 2007, I searched for an attorney based on an ESOP transaction occurring at my place of employment that would affect about 175 people, I happened upon Mr Barton and his firm. From the first e-mail I sent to him requesting help, I was made to feel comfortable, and that he potentially may have an in...terest in looking into further. There was a large geographical distance between the east coast, from where he was to the mid-west, where I was, but he always made me feel like he was right next door. This ESOP transaction eventually turned out to be an extraordinary complex case, unlike any other, which included numerous depositions, trials & appeals, not once did Joe give up. He believed in the case and took every step along the way to explain what was happening, could happen, and what could or could not be expected, not to mention the numerous trips made from the east coast to the mid-west to meet with myself and the other Plaintiffs. He made sure we had the best representation at the trials, with witnesses that he traveled to interview, touching 3 corners of the US, gathering experts with vast knowledge, and always with the utmost professionalism. This was a case that was based on a contingency, and lasted 8 years, with its share of ups and downs, and not once did the level of representation by Joe and his team skip a beat. Who would do that? Never knowing if he'd ever see any monetary reimbursement for himself and his firm after all the hours, days, weeks, months, years and expense he put forth in this case. Joe did! His dedication, expertise, knowledge of the law and regard for humanity, earned him and those he worked so hard for, victory.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
