Lawyers may get a bad rap but Tom is golden. He guided me through an extremely absurd matter during an already distressful time that could have cost me money and a nervous breakdown. Without going into the specifics, I needed to protect myself and my property. He not only explained calmly and reasonably how the law and legal processes works on these issues, my options and recourse, what all of that would look like, future considerations, but shared his perspective. He went beyond *any* expectations. I found him to be incredibly knowledgable (which you would expect), honest, fair, and trustworthy, (which you would hope), but also compassionate -- which I certainly did not expect. Having said that, i would also trust Tom to 'go to war' in court if needed. I'd recommend him to anyone, everyone ever in need.

Tom Cummins was hired to handle a critical point in a litigation case dealing with contract law. On very short notice, Tom mastered all elements of the complex case and advised skillfully as to both the litigation and settlement issues to consider. His litigation strategy drove the case to settlement on favorable terms.

I worked with Tom Cummins who is an excellent person injury lawyer. Tom was very active with my case and has a very strong attention to detail. He is very kind and was always willing to help me get the best possible outcome. Anytime I needed anything he was very quick to respond and any questions that I had he explained them very well. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone in need of a person injury lawyer. You will definitely be in good hands!

I have engaged Tom Cummins for legal advice three times. These issues related to corporate malfeasance, financial matters, and homeowners association governance, underscoring the breadth and diversity of his legal expertise. I would engage him again without hesitation.
In each case, I requested, and received, an in-depth legal analysis of the situation, and an understanding of my legal options, in order to make decisions on how to proceed and what actions to take (or avoid).
Tom provided a clear explanation (with documentation) of the relevant laws, how they are applied in practice in the legal community and courts, and the complexities of how the legal system actually works. (In my case, the Fairfax courts, which Tom knows first-hand and thoroughly.)
Tom provided candid and pragmatic assessments of each of my cases -- strengths, weaknesses, probabilities of outcomes. The bottom lines were not necessarily what I had hoped to hear, but they were what I needed to hear. Understanding reality is critical -- perhaps the most important outcome of my time with Tom -- and prepared me to make well-informed and realistic decisions.
Although Tom is a litigator, he helped me understand why litigation -- despite my interest -- is not always the best approach. Rather, he identified alternative approaches which resulted in more successful outcomes than I would otherwise have achieved. But if in the future litigation is warranted, there is no one I would better trust with my case than Tom.
Underscoring his integrity and ethics, Tom was honest and forthright in explaining what cases he would not take and what areas of practice he would refer to another attorney. He met the agreed plan on deliverables and meetings, and was flexible in accommodating my schedule. He was well-prepared for our meetings, organized and disciplined in productively using our meeting time, and he adhered to the estimated fees.
In all, Tom Cummins is extremely knowledgeable; honest, candid and ethical; thoroughly professional, and I highly recommend him.

I consulted with Mr. Cummins regarding misrepresentation of a used car that I purchased. He was a very communicative, qualified, personable, genuine and capable individual. Easy to communicate with and very thorough. Highly recommended!

We had an issue with a client for non payment. The dispute was without merit in our opinion however, the customer refused to pay. In order to avoid going to court we agreed to settle receiving most of the amount due. Tom worked with their attorneys. Phone calls and letters. He kept us informed. He was always quick with responses and updates. He is compassionate, knowledgeable and shrewd. Not in a negative sense. Tom set the necessary ground work so that, when we came to agreement on a settlement, he got what he could because he led them to it. And yes, I would definitely hire him again.

Tom helped us navigate the court system and answer foreclosure notices. We were able to avoid foreclosure because we could sell our house, but Tom went to court and wrote documents and all of that. Very helpful and caring as well.
