A first-time DUI arrest can seriously affect your life and your lifestyle. If you already have a DUI conviction, the consequences of another conviction are far more severe. In any DUI case, you need representation by a knowledgeable DUI lawyer who will work to defend your rights and preserve your freedom. In every DUI case I defend, my primary goal is to keep you out of prison. My secondary goal is to protect your driver's license.

Violent Crime 20%

Violent crimes carry some of the most severe penalties in Delaware and across the country. As a former prosecutor myself, I can tell you from firsthand experience that prosecutors push for the harshest prison sentences possible for violent crimes like assault, burglary, domestic violence, strangulation, robbery, manslaughter and murder. I defend people accused of all violent crimes and make sure their rights are protected throughout the criminal process.

Conviction of any crime that is sexual in nature will result in very serious consequences for the accused. After a person convicted of a sex crime is released, discharged or paroled, he or she will be required to register as a sex offender. With your freedom and your future on the line, you need an experienced criminal defense attorney who will mount an aggressive defense. I will protect your rights and fight to minimize the impact of a sex crime on your life.

A simple traffic ticket can lead to the loss of your driver's license. It can result in a fine, increase your insurance premiums and even land you in jail. But you do not have to passively accept the penalties that can come with a traffic ticket. By successfully fighting a speeding ticket or other traffic violation, you can avoid or reduce the points you receive, and keep your driver's license. I represent clients accused of traffic violations and I work hard to minimize the consequences.

Exceeded Expectations but Difficult to Reach

I flew then drove into Dewey Beach from way out of state for a bachelor party. I drank too much, acted like an idiot, got tossed from a bar, and subsequently thrown in jail for disorderly conduct. While in the drunk tank, I started tinkering with my surroundings and got criminal mischief thrown on to...p for disabling the camera in the cell. After being transferred to the county jail the following morning I started freaking out. Upon release later that evening, I immediately started searching for representation. It was a Saturday, so I wasn't expecting much while calling around to all my top choices. Fortunately, Mr Farren picked up even though it was the weekend. He listened attentively to my circumstances and assured me he was confident he could get a desirable outcome in the case - specifically, an absentia plea so I would not have to fly back from halfway across the country. He agreed to a very reasonable fee. After handling my arraignment and obtaining a continuance to the initial trial date, Mr Farren negotiated a plea to have the criminal mischief charge dropped and probation before judgement for the disorderly conduct charge in exchange for a guilty plea IN ABSENTIA to the disorderly conduct, paying court costs, a fine, and restitution for the camera. Having one charge dropped in addition to not having to return for trial and receiving a PBJ completely exceeded my expectations. I was very satisfied with Mr Farren's results. The one minor quibble I had with Mr Farren was the difficulty in reaching him. I was stressed and concerned about the status of my case and I didn't really understand how the justice system worked. I did not know if he was able to secure an absentia plea so I did not know if I needed to start arranging for a return to Delaware. On several occasions I contacted Mr Farren by email or phone and didn't hear back for a few days so I had to followup. This did not put my mind at ease. HOWEVER, eventually I was always able to reach Mr Farren and/or his assistant Roz. Despite my concerns, Mr Farren handled my case very effectively from day 1 through dismissal. I would not hesitate to hire Mr Farren again.

Went Above and Beyond Expectations

When I received my first speeding ticket back in March of this year, I was incredibly nervous and scared of the entire situation. Being a college student working part time, I could not afford to continue my education if my insurance rates were to increase. Within the week of getting the ticket I rese...arched online for lawyers in Delaware who would defend me for a speeding ticket, and as a Pennsylvania resident, this was even more confusing to me as it would normally have been. After contacting Mr. Farren's office, I had met with him within the week, and he offered me the peace of mind I desperately needed. He assured me that he would not only get me off with no points added to my license, but would also have the fine reduced considerably from what it would be. It was that day I hired him for a more than agreeable rate, as he went to work. I did not need to worry or even think of the entire incident for months while he took care of it, and once I had received a letter from the state notifying me of my court date, I received a letter from Mr. Farren the very next day. The letter had explained exactly what to expect, and what to do. I followed the letter and did exactly what Mr. Farren had instructed, and when it came time for me to go to trial, Mr. Farren arrived on time and spoke with the officer. He had my ticket reduced from 45mph over the speed limit to 9mph (with no points added to my license). I was also charged with driving uninsured despite having an insurance policy active at the time, and evidence of it, so Mr. Farren was able to have that dropped entirely. Mr. Farren reduced something that could have potentially caused some serious damage to my record, to a slap on the wrist, if you could even call it that. I could not have asked for a better person to represent me.

I had a possible DUI case. I looked for a lawyer via the yellow pages. I found Mr Farren and he was an amazing discovery. He asked what where my expections, and put me at ease and took time to explain possible outcomes. Mr Farren represented me at court and with the DMV. I am highly satisfied with hi...s service and strongly recommend him to anyone who is facing legal problems. He and his staff are very personable and communicated with me at every phase of the legal process. I appreciate their service.

First Impressions are everything.

I generally do not write reviews online but I'm sure that anyone who gets a DUI is scared and will do what I did and Google and attorney and select Mr. Farren based on the reviews that are listed online. Although Mr. Farren represented my boyfriend I was extremely hands on with in this process. Duri...ng our initial meeting with Mr. Farren I had a bad feeling about him because I had done my research on what the mandatory consequences for a 2nd DUI in Delaware were. Mr. Farren lied right to my face and said that he could get us "plea" for 60 days in jail with a release in 7 days. However that is the mandatory sentence I should have walked out then. Mr. Farren attended 2 DMV hearings and for both hearings he was an hour late and I had to contact him to see if he was coming. During the 1st court date Mr. Farren was 1 1/2 late and I contacted him while waiting in the court house. His response when asked where was he at was "why do you have a phone in the court house" I heard Mr. Farren tell the prosecutor that he was not going to pursue the medical defense that was significant to the case and when I asked him about it he brushed the question off. The last event was the trial date when Farren also showed 1 1/2 hour late. It appears that the other attorneys and prosecutors do not like Mr. Farren because they shot down everything he was saying which presented my boyfriend's case from being thrown out even though the cop did not show up. After paying Mr. Farren $2,000 my boyfriend received the maximum consequence that Mr. Farren continued to refer to as a plea. My boyfriend is full time employed and I witnessed accommodations made for those in worst cases( as they discuss everyone's case openly in the court room). My dissatisfaction lies in the lack of communication, disregard for scheduled appearances and meetings. My boyfriend and I knew that there was going to consequences for his DUI and even jail time however Mr. Farren made us believe that he would fight for our case. I mean gosh the cop didn't show up A PUBLIC DEFENDER could have gotten that thrown out. I do have a few positive things to say bout this experience. Mr. Farren did allow us to make weekly payments until the balance was paid off. He did make a request for my boyfriend to be released after serving days. However he failed to inform me of the process that MUST be completed prior to his release. If I wouldnt have contacted my own resources I would have never been informed of the process. When I contacted Mr. Farren to confirm the information I obtained his response was " I DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENS TO PEOPLE WHEN THEY GET OUT OF JAIL" This is not the attorney to use if you are looking for someone who is going to be decrease your anxiety about the situation. Sorry for the super long review but I do not want anyone to make the same bad decision that my boyfriend and I did. If you do meet with him FOLLOW YOUR GUT! There were signs early on that I disregarded.

Ms. Boss started her review in a veracious manner; however, after that, everything she said was completely false. I did in fact inform my client, not Ms. Boss that the worse case scenario for his case would be a 60 day prison sentence; however, I am fairly confident I could get him released after serving only 7 days. That is the end of the truthfulness of her reviews. I did attend two DMV hearings but I was never later. If I was, DMV would have ruled against my client and that never happened. During the first court date, I was on time, present before the judge took the bench. Ms. Boss was also present and while I was talking to my client, she immediately jumped into the conversation and started yelling at me, in front of the whole courtroom. Very disrespectful to everyone present. My client called me the next day and apologized for her behavior. As for the trial date, once again, I appeared on time. Yes, the police officer did not show up and yes, I asked for the case to be dismissed; however, the reason the officer didn't show up was because he had invalid service from the Court; therefore, there was no way the Court was going to dismiss this case due to his failure to appear. At that time, I informed Ms. Boss' boyfriend, my client, that he had one of two choices - he could ask for his case to be rescheduled and if the cop failed to appear then we could get his case dismissed, or we could just plead guilty and get the 60-day minimum prison sentence. He chose to plea because he already took off 7 days from work and didn't want to have to ask for another vacation a few months later. He choise to plead guilty, against my legal advice. Ms. Boss is misguided and is misinforming the reader about what actually happened here. I hope the reader gives this review the very little weight, if any, it deserves..

I have no idea what these other people are talking about!!!

Are these negative reviews for real?? I hired Mr. Farren to be my attorney for a 3rd offense DUI case. He researched my case extensively and found a solid defense and argument for suppression in my case. I appeared in Superior Court for my suppression hearing and Mr. Farren slammed that cop so bad... that he got up and walked away with his tail between his legs. Simply put, this lawyer is unbelievable!!! His knowledge of the criminal law is outstanding. His ability to analyze a case and present evidence on your behalf is outstanding. He's an incredible attorney. These other 3 people that have written bad reviews about him are obviously his competitors and those reviews have got to be false. Mr. Farren is the best there is. Nothing more can be said.
