DUI and DWI 35%

A first-time DUI arrest can seriously affect your life and your lifestyle. If you already have a DUI conviction, the consequences of another conviction are far more severe. In any DUI case, you need representation by a knowledgeable DUI lawyer who will work to defend your rights and preserve your freedom. In every DUI case I defend, my primary goal is to keep you out of prison. My secondary goal is to protect your driver's license.

Criminal Defense 25%

A former Deputy Attorney General who now protects the accused as a criminal defense lawyer, I provide aggressive representation to absolutely everyone. Unlike many other law firms, we truly care about our clients. As a client of our firm, you will rest assured that I always will work hard to get you the best possible outcome. We want you to consider me not only as a "service provider" but also as a "trusted adviser." This firm has three principals: integrity, and client satisfaction.

Violent Crime 20%

Violent crimes carry some of the most severe penalties in Delaware and across the country. As a former prosecutor myself, I can tell you from firsthand experience that prosecutors push for the harshest prison sentences possible for violent crimes like assault, burglary, domestic violence, strangulation, robbery, manslaughter and murder. I defend people accused of all violent crimes and make sure their rights are protected throughout the criminal process.

Sex Crime 15%

Conviction of any crime that is sexual in nature will result in very serious consequences for the accused. After a person convicted of a sex crime is released, discharged or paroled, he or she will be required to register as a sex offender. With your freedom and your future on the line, you need an experienced criminal defense attorney who will mount an aggressive defense. I will protect your rights and fight to minimize the impact of a sex crime on your life.

Speeding and Traffic Ticket 5%

A simple traffic ticket can lead to the loss of your driver's license. It can result in a fine, increase your insurance premiums and even land you in jail. But you do not have to passively accept the penalties that can come with a traffic ticket. By successfully fighting a speeding ticket or other traffic violation, you can avoid or reduce the points you receive, and keep your driver's license. I represent clients accused of traffic violations and I work hard to minimize the consequences.

The best around

I had a pretty serious case and I consulted a lot of attorneys from Hurley, to Foley, to Maurer. None of them really peaked my interest so I kept looking. Found Fran's Avvo page and read the reviews like most propel would. I saw the bad review but also read Fran's response. After I met with him perso...nally, I concluded immediately that the person writing that review was a flake. Mr. Farren was very professional and knowledgable at the outset. Unlike the other attorney's, Mr Farren engaged me during our interview and looked at me directly in my eyes. That is really important to me. After discussing my case with him at length, he put me at ease almost immediately. I was concerned about going to prison but Mr. Farren assured me that if I got sentenced to prison, he promised to "serve my time for me". That's impossible, I know, but it still really put my mind at ease. My stress levels decreased dramatically after meeting with this man face to face. He handled my felony case very professionally, with candor, and kept me informed throughout the whole process. I couldn't have made a better choice in an attorney because Fran got my felony reduced to a misdemeanor, there was no prison time at all, and now I'll be able to put all of this behind me after I get a pardon several years from now and then get my record expunged. I certainly could not do that if convicted of a felony!! Like Hurley, Foley, and Maurer, Mr. Farren did not promise me at the outset I would get a misdemeanor plea. He did, however, work his ass off for me, used the great relationship he had with the prosecutor (since he used to be one of them), and got me a deal better than I could have ever expected!!! If I were permitted to write 1,000 reviews for this man, I honestly would take the time to write them. Simply put, I recommend that you skip the Hurley's, Foley's and Maurer's of this world and give Mr. Farren the opportunity to handle your case. I guarantee you that you will be more than pleased with the results. The fact that he is a Christian also made me trust him that much more.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
