Very helpful

Christina and her team helped me tremendously through my divorce. They are highly skilled family law attorneys and helped me settle my divorce as quick and easy as possible while working with a very difficult ex. I highly recommend Ms. DeMatteo and her team.

She DOES NOT HAVE TIME FOR YOU

I was a loyal client of Christina Dematteo. In fact, I referred her several friends as well. Unfortunately, the quality of the representation appears to have depreciated over the last few years. For example, before an important hearing at 9am (which the noticed requested we arrive 15 minutes prior...), Christina did not attempt to prep me until 20 minutes beforehand the same day. When I missed her last-minute call, she then told me (in our breakout session DURING the hearing, that "I wasn't saving myself money by communicating via email instead." As a licensed attorney myself, I found This was insanely rude and unbecoming of a professional. Especially given I had never complained about her costs once. I missed the very last-minute call because I was already logged into the meeting and was in the zoom's waiting room. In discussions prior to this event, she would often forget important facts about my case that we had previously discussed. This would needlessly extend the length of our calls as she would pull up my file....remind herself as best could to get up to speed. Instead of politely apologizing to a paying customer in these instances and moving on with productive conversation, Christina reminded me several times of her very very high caseload and that I am "not her only client"...... She is not the same lawyer who paid attention to detail as she used to be. If you want quality representation and someone who CARES about you and your case... If you are even slightly emotional about your case... Do not hire this lawyer.

Christina Gets Results!

In the winter of 2013, I retained Christina DeMatteo in Custody of my infant child. From the initial meeting, Christina set a collaborative tone and I felt she was dedicated to representing me and my child’s best interest. Her team of professionals impressed me most with their depth of knowledge, ...breadth of legal expertise, resourcefulness and acute attention to detail dedicated to what was an extremely personal and emotionally challenging experience for me and my family. Christina’s experience in the family court system; expert knowledge of the law; and ability to connect with the deeply personal and emotional element unique to family law is what sets her apart from any person I’ve had the honor of knowing. She is excellent counsel because of her knowledge and understanding of legal issues and ability to communicate them in commonplace terms; skillful, resilient and effective negotiation strategies out of court; and smart, powerful and influential litigation techniques in court. She has a highly intuitive and confident presence about herself; and that presence constantly inspired me to do what was necessary to prevail. Christina gets results and I would recommend her with the highest degree of confidence for future representation and/or for representation of friends and loved ones. Sincerely, A grateful, loving and devoted parent

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
