About Richard
Biography
Richard Vanderslice handles all forms of civil litigation in state and federal court, with an emphasis on Act 135 Conservatorships, land use and real estate, environmental law, professional liability, and family law. His areas of practice include litigation, environmental law, administrative law, professional malpractice, officers and directors, personal injury, real estate, premises liability, family law and domestic partnership law. He has tried cases to verdict, appealed cases in State and Federal Court, and has brought many cases to conclusion through alternative forms of dispute resolution.
As a trial lawyer, Mr. Vanderslice's philosophy is that both the simplest slip-and-fall case and the most complex environmental tort case require an attorney to constantly analyze the costs and risks of pursuing the matter for the benefit of the client, so as to give that client options for the optimal resolution.
In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Vanderslice advises small to mid-size businesses, homeowners, and political organizations regarding environmental reporting and impact statements, risk assessment, insurance and reporting requirements. He has also consulted for local candidates for partisan and non-partisan offices.
Prior to joining the firm in November 2005, Mr. Vanderslice practiced in San Francisco, California with the leading professional liability defense firm and personal injury firms in California, the San Francisco Bay Keeper and at the Department of Justice Environmental Enforcement Division.
