Her client who emerged from the trial victorious through his acquittals of attempted murder and racketeering charges and with an outcome better than the other defendants was the beneficiary of NiaLena's individual courage, relentlessness, and strategic creativity. NiaLena's closing argument on behalf of Frank Gambino was then chosen in a nationwide contest and featured by the Center for Criminal Justice Advocacy in Houston, and it is still being used to this day by professors around the country as a way to instruct students.

Genuinely Caring Human Being Who Happens to be an Excellent Attorney

I rarely leave reviews but in stressful times like these when you run into a true advocate, you want to let the world know. Don't walk but run to Attorney Caravasos's office. She responded in minutes to an email (after hours) regarding my very young nephew facing life in prison for an accident. Th...e caveat is she was unable to take his case on the state level but offered a very qualified referral in back to back swift responses. She copied in the referred attorney, including their email and website. Her paralegal also tried to contact me immediately to ensure I received the email, and would have been successful had I not typed in the wrong number. Not to be deterred she followed up with a second email letting me know there was an issue with the number I sent. This is a true sign of a professional and someone who is on top things. Even though I had nothing to offer, that would benefit her business, she took the time to assist. Please take these reviews to heart and contact her. you will not regret it.

Absolutely exceptional attorney

Facing charges in a criminal case is anxiety ridden and devastating. A Light at the End of the Tunnel

When I initially consulted NiaLena 4 ½ years ago, I felt alone and overcome with anxiety and fear from my legal situation with the federal government and saw only darkness in my future. From our first meeting, however, I knew NiaLena was the only criminal defense attorney who had the desire and pass...ion to walk with me through the complicated process of a white collar crime and from the onset, she became committed to me on a personal level. Throughout my lengthy legal process spanning several years, NiaLena was always available, patient and supportive every step of the way. NiaLena never minimized my offense but was always upfront and honest with me even when her comments were painful to hear. In doing so, she gave me support in order that I could get the best, long-lasting results to changes I needed to make for my own well being. She was exceedingly thorough in explaining in detail the consequences of my actions including a probable prison term and knew how to effectively communicate the intricacies of my felony case from start to finish. This was so critical to me as I was unfamiliar with the procedures of the law. During this period, her encouragement in how I might improve other aspects of my life was so appreciated and proved to be of tremendous value. Her insight gave me a deeper perspective of how I view my life and how I can improve it. The stress of the law process was, at times, overwhelming but starting therapy proved an enormous difference to me in gaining control of my emotions and helped control that stress. At one point during my case, it was necessary that I testify in court. NiaLena worked very hard with me through countless demanding and exhaustive preparation sessions which served to reduce my anxiety and gain the confidence to deliver a successful testimony in court. NiaLena never made any promises regarding the outcome of my case but always stood by my side and gave me her very best efforts each and every time. She helped me recognize how my past experience in a conflicted relationship with a domineering spouse combined with my poor judgement in business as well as my own life could have contributed to my committing a crime. The sentencing outcome of my case was not only better than I had hoped, but also was principally credited to her outstanding skill in and out of the courtroom as a federal white collar criminal lawyer and untiring efforts as my attorney. As part of the elderly population, a prison sentence for me would likely have resulted in additional health complications and possibly death, especially during a highly infectious viral pandemic. Truly, she is a fierce advocate for her clients and I will always be grateful to her for guiding me through this incredibly difficult period. NiaLena was my salvation; she was my light at the end of the tunnel. Perhaps I can get back to living my life now as a free woman who received no prison sentence. I don’t know how I would have been able to endure this terrible situation without her help. NiaLena is more than my legal counsel, she will remain my friend and I am so appreciative to her for representing me. She is not only an excellent criminal defense attorney, she truly cares for her clients. I can see why NiaLena has been singled out for so many different honors and awards. The best lawyer ever

NiaLena is a wonderful lawyer. Anyone who has a chance to communicate with her won’t go no further because she is the one. She is a human bean before being a lawyer. She is very caring, very compassionate, very helpful, and very respectful. When you talk to her, she talk back to you. Lifesaver

When I needed a criminal federal lawyer, I was initially referred to someone else. Several months after I hired that other lawyer, he still hadn't bothered to learn anything about me or my case and I realized that he didn't really care about what happened to me. It was then that I found NiaLena Car...avasos. The first thing I saw when I read up on her was FIERCE and from there I knew she was the one. There's no one you can compare her to because she's more than a lawyer. During our time together NiaLena showed me that she cared about my well being by going the extra mile. She used all of her resources to build a good case for my defense. I tried to put up a good front to try and hide what I was going through but she saw through that. I had attempted suicide and she realized that I suffer from depression my whole life and needed help. I also had a stroke, and NiaLena worked with the doctor who treated me and also my psychologist to show that the medical effects of the stroke affected my brain and my judgment regarding the crimes that I committed. I didn't really want to deal with all of this, but NiaLena kept pushing me because she wanted to keep me out of prison. When I would slack off she'd get on me as a mother would, so I can honestly say I've gained a lawyer, mother and friend. When I cried about something, I felt that she cried too. It started to become personal for me. I had serious white collar criminal charges against me and NiaLena fought for me for more than five years. With her great negotiating skills, she was able to persuade the government and the judge to give me a second chance. The outcome of the case was as good as it could have been and I was happy and relieved to have my freedom. I couldn't thank NiaLena enough for saving my life and what she did for me.

Saved the career of a medical doctor from charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges that threatened his ability to maintain his license and practice medicine.

U.S. v. Joseph Merlino et al. (Frank Gambino)

Won acquittals for attempted murder and racketeering charges against her client, alleged mobster Frank Gambino, in the highly publicized federal organized crime case of US v. Joseph Merlino, et al.
