Biography
In over 40 years of practicing law, I am proud that my clients have been able to receive justice through the legal system when they have been injured by the negligence or misconduct of others -- even when it meant taking on powerful corporations or insurance carriers. I have represented seriously injured victims of vehicular crashes, industrial accidents, medical malpractice and unsafe and dangerous conditions in stores and buildings. Regularly recognized as a Pennsylvania Superlawyer and one of the Top Attorneys in Pennsylvania, I wrote the book used by attorneys throughout Pennsylvania in handling vehicle crash cases -- Pennsylvania Rules of the Road. First published in 1978, my book is republished every year by Thomson Reuters with annual updates on our Commonwealth's vehicle laws. I also lecture each year in the largest and most significant continuing legal education seminar run by the Pennsylvania Association for Justice - the Annual Auto Law Seminar -- with over 600 attorneys attending in Pittsburgh, Harrisburg and Philadelphia. Reinoso v. Heritage Warminster LLC
The Superior Court of Pennsylvania reversed the order granting summary judgment to the property owner and remanded for trial. The case settled for a significant sum before trial commenced.
Wilson v. PECO Energy Co.
The Superior Court reversed the trial court and remanded to the lower court. Prior to trial, the case settled for a very substantial sum to compensate plaintiff for her injuries.
Kilgore v. City of Philadelphia
The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania reversed the lower court and found that the plaintiffs had a right to pursue their action before a jury. The case then settled for a substantial sum before trial.
Verbonitz v. Bic Corporation
The judge ordered defendants to produce documents authored by any agent or employee of defendants or any expert witness employed by defendants. Plaintiffs obtained the requested documents and defendants settled the litigation without a trial.
Smith v. Workmen's Compensation Appeal Bd. (Futura Industries)
Commonwealth court reversed and ordered reinstatement of workers compensation benefits.
