Ashley Eve Shapiro

An amazing professional with a very sharp mind. She gave my son a 2nd chance, a do-over if you will. I cannot GLORIFY this woman enough. She is the best of the best. No other description. Good lawyers are expensive but damn are they worth it! Thank you Ashley Eve Shapiro! You are AMAZING. Ms. Shapiro has done pro-bono work for my group for several years. I would recommend her for anyone who needs a criminal defense lawyer, and so would everyone in the group. She is intelligent, perceptive, has always listened to what we have to say and what we think we need, and then adds her own in...imitable style of getting to the point, and getting the job done! I find her very capable and forthright, and I would take her advice, and do. She has been a great lawyer for us, and we trust her judgement and expertise.

She did not listen to me from day one. She constantly cut me off and I dont think she let me get in a full sentence. She supposedly represented me for a contempt charge. I couldnt be any clearer that I wanted to go to trial. She would not. She did not do the wishes of her client. She proceeded to boa...st about the deal she got me when it was exactly what the previous lawyer mentioned to me. When we went to court, I had a bad feeling and wanted to rescind my plea deal. Ms Shapiro said if I rescinded the plea, she would walk out of the courthouse immediately leaving me without representation. She was often rude and abrupt. Also, BEFORE we went into the courtroom, she tried to get me to sign papers saying I didnt want to appeal. I never had that happen before. Usually, you hear the sentence and decide whether you want to appeal or not. I questioned her why I was signing papers before we got into court and that I was uncomfortable doing so and she got combative. My wife witnessed the whole thing. I would never hire her again. EVER!!!

I went on vacation down the Jersey Shore, and within three days, was in jail with a $25,000 cash bail. Now I won't go into specifics on the how or why other than I felt discouraged, in a state of disbelief, and was feeling like I might handle what I call, "bad luck" in a not so constructive way. Thro...ugh some mutual friends I was able to retain Ashley E. Shapiro and Leonard D. Biddison. Ashley worked with the NJ D.A. to come to a deal that took multiple felonies out of the picture and I ended up with one felony, which, I believe, at the end of the day, that all parties were content with the outcome. Without the help of Ashley Shapiro and Leonard D. Biddison, I would have been so lost on how to make my short term and then my long term goals with the constant unknown and the feeling instability due to my ignorance of the whole NJ process. Ashley with above and beyond professionalism was able to give me a plan. Once I did my very easy obligations she, through constant contact and reassurance, somehow gave me stability and a positive outlook, which my personality needs to keep moving. She was always a phone call away, forgiving, knowledgeable, a natural teacher in regards to explaining the case, personable, and always made time for me. She also did top notch work, and easily along with Leonard D. Biddison would be the #1 recommendation to any friend or colleague in need of an excellent lawyer. An easy 5/5 and an easy first recommendation. She single handedly changed the outlook of my immediate to potentially longterm future and for that, I owe a lot more than this review.
