Biography
For approximately 30 years, I have represented claimants for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits. My experience as an attorney and thorough knowledge of the disability process, physical and mental illness, injury, and medicine work to benefit the firm's disabled clients who have been out of work or expect to remain out of work for at least one year.
Over the years, I have established a reputation for ethical, professional representation in Social Security Disability matters. I am a frequent lecturer on Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) issues at seminars for various organizations.
I am licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. However, because SSDI and SSI claims are administrative proceedings, it is not necessary to be a licensed attorney in every state in which disability claims are handled, so I represent people in Delaware and Florida as well. I am a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association and was appointed co-chair of the Social Security Disability Committee from 2004 through 2013. I am a sustaining member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives (NOSSCR).
My associate,Michael Berkowitz, Esquire, is a graduate of Widener University School of Law. Michael had experience in medical-legal issues working with his father, a physician, before his employment with The Disability Law Office of Jeffrey S. Lichtman, LLC. Mike has an appreciation for my attention to detail and commitment to achieving a favorable outcome for our clients.
