Not at all impressed.

Mr. Dunn was retained to represent me in a driving with privlages suspended case stemming from a DUI conviction months earlier. When I arrived at the courthouse (one Mr Dunn was familiar with), he immediately instructed me to have a seat. In doing so, I did not sign the sheet at the counter,  nor did... I notice it. When the officer never showed up, I inquired about this to the clerk who said that the cop was alloted one hour from the started of my hearing time to show that the case would have been dismissed but my name wasn't entered onto sheet as "present" because I was told to sit by my own lawyer. The officer was granted even more time to arrive and even given several complimentary phone calls. He finally arrived. The cop was clueless about the case as he had forgotten about it. He was given as much time as he needed on the spot to do research into my history and driving record. When Mr. Dunn and the cop came out of the conference room, I was told by Mr. Dunn that he didn't have any leverage  to fight my case because I had a previous license suspension from over a decade prior. That very old blemish on my driving record seemed very trivial to my myself and my shocked family members. Still Mr. Dunn felt he couldnt do all that much as I was looking at an additional year suspension and some possible jail time for a few months. When I finally went before the judge it was as if I didn't even have a lawyer by my side. I spoke on my own behalf and explained the circumstances of the incident. The judge thanked me for my candor and in the end I incurred an additional year suspension and no jail time. The outcome I felt would have been the same with or with our Dunn by my side. In one word, after the hearing the impression that myself and my family had of Mr. Dunns performance for even a rather low level case was 'IMPOTENCE'. After this experience my recommendation for people seeking legal defence is to not only find a lawyer who merely has a desire to represent you, but also a desire to advocate for you and believe in your cause. That's the real objective.

This client is mistaken/misinformed about much of what he claims in his review. First, there is No rule in any court in Montgomery Co. or any of the surrounding counties that states that a case will be dismissed if the officer is an hour late. This is true whether you sign the sign-up sheet or not. The fact that this client did not sign the "sheet at the counter" had no bearing on this case whatsoever. The officer in this case was, as is normal court policy, given extra time to appear since he was responding to an emergency call at the time he was scheduled to be at this hearing. The client's Court file was already at the Court prior to the officer's arrival and, as usual, he was given the opportunity to review this file prior to the hearing. This client was charged with a PMVC Sec 1543B violation for driving while his license was suspended for a DUI violation. This charge carries a mandatory 60-90 day jail sentence if my client was convicted. A review of this client's driving record showed that he continued to be DUI suspended since he had never gotten his license restored since his DUI. As a result of an agreement that I made with the officer, who was absolutely under no obligation to make any agreement, the client's charge was changed from a DUI-related suspension which carried the mandatory 60-90 days jail time to a regular driving under suspension which carried NO jail time but did have an additional year's license suspension. We went before the Judge and explained the agreement between myself and the officer and the Judge could either accept or reject the agreement. In this case, as with all of my prior cases with this Judge, he accepted the agreement and the client avoided a 60-90 day jail term. The Judge did allow the client to speak, but the agreement had already been made so the defendant's statement made no difference in this case. If this client ever came to me with any of these concerns/misunderstandings, I would have gladly again explained the details of the resolution of this case to him. However, I never heard anything from this client after this hearing until I read his anonymous negative review. As ALL of my other reviews indicate, I take pride in fighting for the best results possible under the circumstances for my clients. I also work hard to make sure that all of my clients are satisfied with my efforts on their behalf. It is a shame that this client misunderstood the circumstances surrounding his case and did not appreciate how I saved him from 60-90 days in jail.
