"A true trial lawyer for the most complex cases. Nothing too big. David and Goliath kind of guy in every sense of the metaphor (he is even short-LOL). Derek will take on any wrong if he has decided there was a wrong and it has changed someone's life forever. A fighter like I have so rarely seen in my 22 years of practice, not afraid of defense firms with 400+ lawyers and swarms of associates and paralegals. He has won cases I would have bet large sums of money were impossible -- impossible not difficult-- to win (example-- around the year 2000, the brother of a doctor who failed to diagnose his own brother in Delaware Co. Derek had to be escorted out of the courtroom by security guards to protect his life. Didnt faze him one bit. You want a guy really not afraid, and in fact chomping, to try a tough case, he is it. No flamboyance. All business."
