Premier Criminal Defense & DUI Attorney - Former Prosecutor, Now I Defend!
When the Commonwealth accuses someone of a crime this is a very serious allegation. The Commonwealth is putting this persons rights, reputation, and freedom at stake. I make it my absolute priority to protect their rights within the legal system, develop aggressive strategies toward defending their case, and ensure they are positioned and legally advised on how to best resolve their case and move forward.
Every legal situation is different and deserves an individualized approach. Every client has different needs and goals. Often emotional and other non-legal concerns arise as a result of a legal situation. I therefore ensure to listen closely, communicate frequently, and reject a "cookie cutter" approach to every case. Through this model I am able to provide uncompromising solutions and client service that enables me to minimize, if not eliminate, the consequences of the criminal accusation. I ensure to accomplish this with every client based on the belief that success in the area of criminal defense requires trial readiness, experience, legal knowledge, preparation and hands on client service.
By way of history, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Pittsburgh where I received a B.S. in both Business and Psychology. I then graduated Cum Laude from Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware where I received a Juris Doctorate degree. While attending Widener Law School, I served on the Executive Board as an Editor for the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law and was the Vice President of the Student Bar Association. I was also selected for an externship with the Honorable Justice Richard Barclay Surrick of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
I spent over 2.5 years working as an Assistant District Attorney for York County, Pennsylvania where I was assigned to the Major Crimes Unit. During my time in the York County District Attorney’s Office I handled numerous jury trials where I obtained several noted convictions and gained significant litigation experience as well as a detailed insight into prosecutorial strategies. This experience has been invaluable in the development of a successful criminal defense practice.
I have been admitted to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the Middle District of Pennsylvania and both the Pennsylvania and York County Bar Associations. I am also an active participant in the Herbert B. Cohen Chapter of the American Inns of Court.

I have known TL Kearney for many years even before we both became attorneys and he is a great person. He is extremely intelligent and knowledgeable in his field and works hard for his clients. I would certainly recommend his services to anyone in need of legal representation.

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community
Attorney Kearney has established himself in the criminal defense bar. He is pleasant to work with and willing to answer questions as they arise.
Jennifer Galloway, Criminal defense Attorney on Jun 12, 2015
Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community
Attorney TL Kearney has quickly made a name for himself in his chosen field of Criminal Law, because he excels at what he does. While I have fortunately not been in the position to need his services personally, I would not hesitate to send a friend, family member or client to TL for representation in their criminal matter. TL takes time to explain things to people in a way that they can understand, which is extremely important in the complicated field of law, and works hard to obtain good results for his clients. I would strongly recommend Attorney TL Kearney to anyone in search of an attorney for DUI, Criminal or drug related offenses.
Rosina Stambaugh, Criminal defense Attorney on Nov 18, 2014
Relationship: Co-worker
TL is an experienced criminal defense attorney who will aggressively advocate for you. He will work hard to achieve the best option for your situation. I would recommend hiring him for any criminal matter.
Craig Milsten, Criminal defense Attorney on Jun 9, 2014

I have found Attorney Kearney to be an exceptionally talented lawyer. He is equally adept at navigating the complexities of plea bargains and sentencing as he is making an argument before a judge or jury. A person facing criminal charges in York County will find no better representation than Attorney Kearney.

I have known TL Kearney professionally for several years and have worked closely with him on several occasions. He is an excellent trial attorney, a hard worker and a zealous advocate.

Some people just get it. Attorney Kearney is one of those people. Fortunately for people accused of crimes, he is also a criminal defense lawyer. Attorney Kearney doesn't just see the criminal accusation. He sees the person behind it and the impact it can have on their life. I find him to be sincere in his approach. I endorse this lawyer.
