Sean Michael Burke

Represents individuals with closely held business entities from start to finish: corporate organization, business counseling, corporate agreements, and maintenance. Advises business owners on transfers of business interests through gifts and leveraged sales. Advises clients on general business matters including financing, partnerships and LLCs. One of Sean’s specialties is agricultural business, including family farms, cooperative assoc., ag-lenders, and ag-equipment manufacturers.

Significant experience in drafting Wills, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Powers of Attorney, and trust documents designed to meet goals of tax minimization, planning for special needs, charitable dispositions, and asset protection. Special estate planning for farmers and agricultural entities. Presentations on the most recent tax laws surrounding agricultural companies and those families. Advised clients on family limited partnerships to ensure the protection of family assets.

Advises fiduciaries as to valuation, taxation, reporting and distribution of estate and trust assets, compliance with duties to beneficiaries and govt entities, and practical strategies to harmonize the relationship between fiduciaries and beneficiaries. Significant experience in various probate court proceedings, both adversarial and not, including disputes over estate and trust administration, guardianship appointments for disabled adults and minor children, and trust modifications

Having practiced in the Real Estate Group since joining the firm in 2005, Sean routinely counsels clients on leases, agreements of sale, easements and review of title issues. He works closely with realtor associations and attends an annual seminar on real estate issues.
