Michael Edward Waltman

Mr. Waltman represented me in two criminal cases. His intelligence and relentless desire to place the client’s wellbeing at the center of his objective was evident during the first ten minutes of my initial consultation with Michael. Michael’s responses were never less than assiduously researched, ...and his message was always tactfully communicated to all channels of the judicial hierarchy, from a fellow individual awaiting trail, to law clerk and judge. Michael even took it upon himself to read the confusing law jargon/inconspicuous details for all pages requiring signatures “loud enough” for the less fortunate defendants whose lawyers or public defenders did not show for various court sessions. On multiple occasions, Michael was the only lawyer present. This was just another proven act of Michael’s sincere dedication. And, it was a major plus to have his down to earth wit and humor during my journey! He saved me on a few occasions from leaving the court room in tears. While my journey with Michael has come to end (and I speak only in the interest of my sake that I never need his services again!), Michael continues to reach out on occasion to check in. Michael Waltman represented our son in a double homicide case where the Commonwealth charged our son with two counts of first degree murder. The Commonwealth was adamant, all the way through the jury trial, that the deaths were executed with premeditation and malice. Mr. Waltman’s careful assessment and thorough exploration and analysis of the evidence enabled him to recognize, prepare and vigorously argue a self-defense case. He uncovered every stone in his quest for evidence and discovery. He followed every lead and countered the prosecutors every move with tangible and relative evidence and witness accounts. He evaluated and scrutinized the evidence and voice recordings with a critical eye/ear and called out material discrepancies in the transcripts. He employed the best scientific methods and professional expert witnesses to establish facts critical to the case. These services were imperative to the case and he managed those expenses as our fiduciary with good stewardship. Mr. Waltman continuously made himself accessible to us over the entire course of 13 months and always kept us informed every step of the way. He gave us much confidence and peace of mind throughout the long ordeal. Moreover, Mr. Waltman’s visits were of much encouragement to our son throughout his incarceration. Beginning with his opening remarks, he laid out the flaws and weaknesses in the case that the prosecutor would put forward, while establishing the foundation for his defense in simple, concrete terms. His arguments were well constructed and compelling, leading the jury to make sensible conclusions. This proved to be an exhausting trial to prepare for, but that didn’t deter Mr. Waltman from working the case long after his budgeted hours were spent. He freely devoted his personal time to work the case and labored tirelessly during the 10-day trial. We were well served to have our son represented by Mr. Waltman and will forever be grateful.
