Simply the best!
I received a notice of appearance for an UPM. Since I live in NYC, I wanted to find a lawyer who could represent me in Ithaca without my needing to be present for the court date. I cannot believe how easy Mike made the entire process for me. This was my first time needing to appear in court...needles...

Outstanding Lawyer
Michael is exactly what you want in a lawyer. He is knowledgeable, reliable, accessible and passionate. He takes a particular interest in his client's cases and works tirelessly to achieve his client's objectives. I would refer any family member or friend to Michael without hesitation.

Scare Tactics
I called the attorney about a DWAI (son) and as you can imagine for parents never in trouble with the law we were in crisis mode. This attorney had us scared to death. He said we immediately needed to get the blood sample they took on him. He explained all about chromatography?? He said we needed ...
Dear Sir or Madam, unfortunately, I do not recall speaking with you specifically, but I am always disappointed when people express that they had a bad experience after speaking or working with me. I pride myself on helping people and being honest with them about the process. With respect to blood cases, we always focus on the science behind the test. Blood tests are difficult to defend against and, in the event that a plea doesn't work out, you have to prioritize seeking the blood result in discovery documents early in the case so that it can be argued later (prior to a trial situation) that we requested it and were never given the sample (which happens in virtually all cases). This can help gain leverage over the DA's office prior to trial or even exclude evidence entirely at trial. The People do have an obligation to provide your blood sample as a property right (since it is a sample of your bodily fluids). With respect to our fees, they are based on many factors including: seriousness of the case, past criminal history, distance to court, work anticipated, and expected length of case (amongst other things). With blood cases, they are typically closer to six months or longer to resolve given that it takes the NYS forensic laboratory about 8-10 weeks to return a blood sample to the DA. Then, if there was a car accident or property or somebody has any history, it usually adds an additional 8 weeks or so for the Probation Dept. to conduct an interview. These happen frequently. While I'm sorry that you felt angry towards me, I never represented your son, and it's inappropriate for you to judge my abilities as an attorney based on a phone call.
"I worked with Mike for over a year in our law practice in Massachusetts. He inherited a mess from a previous attorney and immediately cleaned it up. Mike is an honest, caring, and diligent attorney who I would recommend to anybody who needs help. You will not be disappointed -- he's a genuine person who cares about people."
"Mike and I worked together at the Law Offices of Richard Ravosa. He is intelligent, hard-working, trustworthy, and dedicated to providing the best representation possible for his clients. Anyone working with Mike is in great hands, and I highly endorse him."
"I endorse this lawyer without reservation. Michael and I discussed DUI & DWI issues at a National College for DUI Defense seminar. I found his comments regarding the subject matter to be very insightful. He is passionate about assisting his clients with their DUI/DWI case."
"I highly endorse the knowledge, skills and integrity of Attorney Michael Cyr. He has a great attitude and a strong-work ethic. If you or your loved ones are facings serious legal issues in Up-State New York I urge you to contact Mr. Cyr. You will be glad that you did. Michael Cyr is an excellent defense lawyer."
"Mike and I met a DUI conference at Harvard Law School sponsored by the National College of DUI Defense. Not only is Mike likeable but he knows his stuff. It is without reservation that I would recommend him for your legal counsel."
"I got to see Mike's abilities first hand at the intensive DUI defense training we attended together. Mike was in my trial skills section and I saw him display his considerable talents. He was excellent. I can confidently tell anyone that if they are arrested for DUI, they should retain Michael Cyr to represent them."
"Mike and I met at the summer conference for the National College for DUI Defense. Mike is an energetic and knowledgable attorney. DWI is a complicated and serious crime. It requires a knowledge and dependable attorney who stays on top of all the developments in the law. Mike is that attorney. I whole heatedly endorse Mike Cyr."
"I endorse this lawyer. Michael and I are fellow members of the National College of DUI Defense (NCDD). The NCDD requires high standards to join and requires members to keep current on DUI Law."
"I am pleased to endorse Mike Cyr for DWI and other criminal defense. I have known and worked with Mike closely for the past two years and have been impressed with his attention to detail and unfailing persistence. In fact, his willingness to take on difficult cases and see them to a successful resolution has repeatedly impressed me. His skills do not end with his courtroom work. He also projects a confidence in his communication with our clients. I have seen him resolve conflicts and handle other difficult situations with remarkable patience. He loves people, works hard, and always tries to serve them completely. I believe that these characteristics represent the best a defense attorney can offer. I am pleased to be his mentor, friend, and associate."
"I enthusiastically endorse Mike. Mike is smart, dedicated, and caring, and I know that he goes the extra mile for his clients."
"Mike Cyr and are colleagues, and I enthusiastically endorse him as an excellent attorney; one who engenders the confidence of his clients and colleagues alike. We recently had a client in common. I found Mike's care for his client's well-being, his ease of communication with myself, and his acumen, to be welcome and refreshing. He's a thorough attorney who truly looks after his clients. He's a pleasure to work with, and I believe that anyone who has Mike in their corner, is indeed fortunate. I heartily, and without reservation, recommend my colleague, Michael Cyr, as a fine counselor at the bar."
"Most attorneys know the law, as Michael certainly does. What separates Michael from many of his peers is Michael's innate ability to compellingly communicate and argue the law before judge and jury. Just as importantly, Michael has a unique way of blending being able to take a hard-line stance on behalf of his clients, when necessary, with remarkable interpersonal skills that places others at ease enabling Michael to garner the respect of opposing attorneys. These are not skills one learns in a textbook. I would never hesitate to recommend Michael and I do so not only as Michael's friend, but as a fellow attorney."
"I had the pleasure of getting to know Michael and the quality of his work while working with him on a serious burglary last year. He is an excellent attorney and I endorse him without hesitation."
"Attorney Michael Cyr worked as an associate attorney in my law firm for several years and we worked on many cases together, some routine and some very complex, and "Mike" always demonstrated an unwavering commitment to our clients combined with his legal talent, thorough preparation and ability to communicate make him the attorney you want to hire if you need a problem solved. I still receive "thank you" comments from our firm's clients who used Mike as their attorney and are grateful to him years after he served them so well."
